Foreigners don't understand American culture.
Is a side effect of the culture. Think of it this way. If you allow people to drive cars, there will be car accidents. Does that make cars a bad think?
I don't know what the solution is, but at least we're having dialogue which is good.
Regular mass shootings are such a great culture to have !
Yeah, I don't know what could be done to stop the accidents caused by guns, really no clue

Our federal government has spent decades regulating the auto industry to make cars safer, everything from safety glass to seat belts to airbags to mandatory crash testing.
Too bad our government isn't willing to hold other industries similarly accountable for public safety.

You can't compare guns to Cars bro. For me America is crazy with these guns laws. You can buy a gun in a Supermarket like a Sandwich. Thats insane. I feel Bad for all the people who died because of all these guns psychopaths. I'm Happy to live in a country with very strict guns laws, i feel a Lot more safe than if i would live in USA. Only Police, Army and Security Company can Wear guns, but Not as a private personIs a side effect of the culture. Think of it this way. If you allow people to drive cars, there will be car accidents. And while cars aren't a "god given right", certain cars are not legal for us to drive.
All 50 states also require passing a test and getting a license before you can operate an automobile on a on a public road.

Ohh @SlyPokerDog I'm feeling kind of political... Please help me!And there is absolutely no state where a stranger can walk up and purchase a gun legally. Not one.
Cars actually are a good analogy. For cars, the maker sends a couple models for crash testing once, and then sells millions for years with nothing more. In Comifornia, a gun manufacturer has to send it two copies of every model, every color and every variation for "testing" for safety. Does Toyota have to send in each color way for testing?
In the end an evil person can buy a car and run it into people and kill them. So we should stop the sales of cars to prevent this? If the answer is no, then why prevent responsible citizens the right to own a gun because some psycho uses it against people (FYI, the FL kid was not charged with several crimes that would have prevented him from owning a gun, but was released due to government demands they reduce certain high school arrests).
And, not blaming his brother, but I don't tend to stick around and argue with people at night in parking lots. And I have never been shot. Some times you just need to learn when to walk away.

No, that's just untrue.
This is gonna go OT.
It's very true. There's literally a Craigslist for guns man...
He said buying from a supermarket. That's not meeting someone on the street and exchanging cash for a gun without a background check or any paperwork. And that is illegal in several states already. Doesn't stop criminals though and never will. Just a bigger pain in the ass for law abiding people.

If you didn't get the sarcasm and thought he meant literally purchasing one at a supermarket.... Hell, I don't have a sarcasm meter and I caught that...
I've seen both guns and hard liquor sold at the same counter in a California Safeway.

Several == 19. In 31 states, no background check or even an ID is required.
Isn't Fred Meyer a supermarket?
"The Kroger Company will stop selling guns to customers under the age of 21, the grocery store chain said Thursday, joining two other major retailers who have raised age limits after last month’s school shooting in Florida.
Kroger sells guns at 43 of its 133 Fred Meyer locations in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It said that, in those stores, customers would not be able to buy either guns or ammunition until undergoing a background check that would verify their age."
But they are a dealer, not a private seller. So, background checks are required period, regardless of age. Plus, as of 2015 Oregon is one of the 19 states that also require background checks for the private sale of fire arms. 31 states have no such restrictions on the private sale of firearms.
Point being, you CAN buy a guy at a supermarket right here in Oregon, as long as you meet the requirements.

And there are different requirements to purchase each. It's not the same buying a gun as buying a sandwich. That's all I was saying.

The last time I bought a gun was at the Beaverton GI Joes about 40 years ago. And it was different than it is now.
And I never bought a gun in California so I have no idea how easy or difficult it is. But it appeared ridiculous to offer hard liquor and firearms at the same counter.
You can buy a gun at the same place as a sandwich in this country, but of course the requirements are different. You can also buy alcohol and pick up prescription drugs there, too. The requirement is different for each - as it should be.
What's on your list today?

Oh I bet it was different back then. Did you even have to show ID? lol
