Guns at the RNC convention?

I would most definitely never attend a political convention unarmed.

The right to self defense is a universal right, one that cannot morally be rescinded, altered, or hampered.

Marshall law in the wild west may have had more strict gun control than we do today in public places

I don't see what the possible hold up could be. Gun free zones are dangerous, right?

The right to carry ends at the doorstep of private property. It's up to the property owner to decide if he'll allow guns on premises. As is the property owner's right.

If you don't like it, you can carry your guns elsewhere. As is your right.

As it should be.

I am absolutely in favor of the delegates exercising their second amendment rights at the convention. It would be completely against their principles to not have the angry Trump supporters heavily armed when the nomination is taken away from him.

It's not going to happen. But for all the Trump or Cruz supporters, would it make a difference to you if your candidate didn't support the delegates right to carry at the convention?

The 2nd amendment applies to government making no law infringing on the right to bear arms. It says nothing about companies, corporations, saloons, private schools, etc. They can make any rules they want that are otherwise lawful.

The secret service says they won't allow guns at the convention.

So un-American.

The convention center isn't government property. The owners can work any deal they choose with the secret service.

Deals are so American.

It isn't a deal as far as I can tell. It's a mandate from the secret service.

The RNC can reject the deal. They won't. Sorry you don't like it.

Reject the deal? What does that mean?

It certainly does not mean "the RNC can choose to allow guns at the convention". I guess it means "the RNC can choose not to have a convention".

So yes, the RNC can reject the deal. Just like I can 'reject' paying income taxes by not having any income.

Not really. It seems that is why most of the mast shooting take place in the gun free zones, such as schools, because there is little danger to the shooter.
The carnage can go on unimpeded for quite a long time before the authorized gun shows up.

Exactly what I said. The republicans are putting everyone there at risk if they choose for the convention to remain there.

In any case, I agree with you. The RNC is not about to allow guns in the convention. Because they know that would be very dangerous, even though they can't admit that.

They can choose another venue.

I'm constantly amazed at how the obvious escapes you. From this issue to economics to the importance of the constitution.

Breaking deals is also so American.
A lot of people have been screwed because they made a deal with the secret service.

Huh? You think the secret service won't allow guns at Quicken Loan Arena, but would at, say, the Moda Center?

It's funny democrats think this is a win, shows just how uneducated they are on the 2nd amendment.
