Expect an announcement soon on the grievance the team filed with the league over the Martell Webster trade with Portland. The Wolves hope to be compensated by Portland with a draft pick and potentially money. 1500ESPN.com

We should have closure on the Martell Webster compensation claim case very soon. Look for the Timberwolves to get cash and/or a second-round pick from Portland. 1500ESPN.com

Does that mean we get compensation for Oden, Bowie, Roy and anyone else our doctors screwed up on?

Yes. Paul Allen wrote himself a check to cover his grievances over having drafted Roy and Oden.

...looks like the case is officially closed now!

‎'Both the Wolves and Blazers are sworn to secrecy, but one team source didn't deny that the compensation the Wolves are getting for the Martell Webster compensation claim is no more than a second round pick and/or cash. It's unknown when the league will make public that the case is closed, but it is." -ESPN

Really, all of this is over Babbit? I like the guy's 3pt skills at times but REALLY?

Pretty fucking silly if you ask me. Minnesota's team doctors got a chance to sign off on Martell's physical.

Babbitt is nothing special as a shooter. Just give them back Babbitt, not the 2nd round pick, who might be a good shooter.

Now if we could only get the Timberwolves to take Roy off our hands.

there's no way a GM would tie up the veteran's minimum in cap space to gamble on Roy's degenerative knees.

Sarcasm, obviously, even without the green.

But given the Minne front office ineptitude over the last few years.... Who fucking doubts???

They wish it was the vet minimum. That would have been a hell of a lot smarter than what they actually gave him, and might have made sense. Kahn gave Roy 2 years at $5 million per year, the second year is not guaranteed.

I have no idea why they gave him so much money. It's not like there was a bidding war for the guy with no meniscus in either knee. Maybe after losing out on Batum, Kahn thought the Blazers would match their offer for Roy. Of course I know that's not possible, but then I'm no David Kahn.
