The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), hosted the Austin Toros for their seventh matchup of the season. The team's newest acquisition, PJ Hairston, led the Legends to a 109-99 victory with 22 points in his first game.
The Legends took control early and held on tight, never relinquishing the lead. The team came out firing, going up by 13 in the first quarter. They hit their largest lead of 24 in both the third and fourth quarters. With 6 minutes left to play, the Toros fought to come back, ultimately depleting the deficit to 10. The victory increased the Legends to 5-2 in the 10-game series between the two teams.

In his first game with the Legends, Hairston came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with 22 points while also grabbing 6 steals. Terrel Harris added 15 points and 10 rebounds alongside Mickey McConnell's 20 points and 10 assists for the game's only double-doubles. Flip Murray powered the Toros with a game-high 27 points and 7 rebounds.

The Legends hosted their largest crowd of the season for their annual military night. In honor of America's true legends the team wore jerseys symbolizing the American flag, made possible by SwypIt.com. All proceeds from the night benefitted the American Fallen Soldiers Project. During halftime, fans witnessed the presentation of a portrait by AFSP to the family of the fallen hero.

The Legends will play their next homestand Friday, Jan 24 and Saturday, Jan 25 hosting the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Santa Cruz Warriors at 7pm each night. For more information on the team or the full season schedule call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
