I watched it (and pretty much all season too). Basically, they rewarded $hamrock for being the most marketable, whereas John Brown had the better lyrics and would probably whip him in a rap battle. I guess in the current "Bling" era of Hip Hop, a guy like $hamrock is who people are looking for.
