Hey give him my very best & see if you could talk him into popping onto the board from time to time.

Off to grab a beer with Munson

Louie and/or Jason, would be welcome additions. Both, and a fistful of other BSPN Regs, could only benefit our community board.......enjoy yourself Hammer, I'm sure you all will....!!!

I gave him the link to the board again last night. Tina wasn't there though

I always got that impression Steve while he was on the ESPN boards.

And he's a really cool guy in person!

...I will never forget when me and my wife were last in NYC...Louie had just bought Tina a new car and was chauffeuring around showing us around the city and a cabbie got a little too close to us to suit Louie. The next thing I knew the began screaming at each other back and forth. The cabbie was not American (imagine that) and was hollering something in his language which none of us could understand while Louis was screaming out of the car window back at him saying over and over, "If you get near this car again I will fucking kill you!"... he must have said it at least 5 times.
...I was in the back seat laughing my ass off, my wife's eyes were wide open in terror, and Tina just sat calmly in her seat and showed no emotion at all, as if she "had seen this movie many times before".

...we had a great time though...the wives hit it off...and so did Louie and I...we went to several sites including Nathan's at Coney Island...met G (Jason) and watched a game together...called Boz up on the cell phone...went to Macy's fireworks (4th of July)...went to all 3 Yanx vs Sox games that weekend...ate entirely too much...drank entirely too much. And yes, we can't wait to go back.

He was telling me about that visit. He said your wife had a horrible flight back though & didn't want to fly back up again

And yes, I always got that impression on the boards too, but it was confirmed. ;)

...lol...my wife had never ever flown before and yeah, we hit some turbulence on the way back and though I tried to reassure her the it was normal and everything would be OK, she was pretty scared. We were in a holding pattern over Atlanta for about an hour until the weather cleared and of course the drinks seemed to calm her down. I think with the proper amount of alcohol and coaxing, I could probably get to fly again...of course, "the proper amount of alcohol" would likely have to be consumed before boarding the flight...lol.
...Tina was also cool...at the time they had some teenagers at home and I remember listening to Tina on her cell phone giving one of their teens hell on the phone...both Louie and Tina seemed like me and my wife. (firm, but fair parents)
...Munson and I had emailed and talked on the phone several times before actually meeting in Manhattan and I was a little surprised to find that Louie was not very big in stature when we initially met at our hotel. I vividly remember his first words as we shook hands; "Yeah, I know, I know, ...you thought I'd be bigger...everyone says that.".
...though he's considerably smaller than me, he still struck me as one of those wiry guys that you'd definitely want on your side in a scrape....G (Jason) too for that matter... he's a monster, probably around 6'5" 260 lbs and like me (6'1" 215 lbs) we both worked as bouncers in clubs before. But both Jason and Louie were just down to earth "regular guys"...It would be great to see them both and maybe some of the other board regs again.

Every time I've flown into or out of Little Rock, I've experienced significant turbulence...

Yeah, he wasn't a big as I anticipated.

It would be cool to have a big get together

...hammer, we can make it happen. Some of us are getting a little long in the tooth...the sooner, the better.

My grandparents.... But I thought Ron is from Arkansas....????

...lol...no, that was an inside joke because "the powers that be" decided to flex their internet muscles and declared that according to their state of the art software, I was located in Arkansas. When I laughed at them I was arbitrarily banned, I assume because I had the unmitigated gall to scoff at their "system", and I was subsequently banned, as was rick, for having the nerve to also stand up to them.

...anywho, rick and I were reinstated and all was forgiven. I am, and have been for the last 40+ years, lived in Georgia.

Georgia? Have you considered moving to Arkansas? And how did a good ole southern boy become a Yankee fan?

...^^^ rick, I grew up as a military brat living up in Memphis, San Diego, Bermuda, Memphis again, and Sanford, where there no sports franchises, As a youngster, the Mick was my hero...hell, he was everyone's hero back then.

...I was hooked on the Yanx...and still am.

Ah... Ok... Good to know. Atlanta seemed like a nice city when I visited 14 or 15 years ago. Still seemed like a shell of what once was though

^^^I'm actually about 50 miles south of Macon...out in the country and about 12 miles from the nearest convenience store/gas station.

I didn't mean to imply you were in Atlanta.... But that was only the 2nd time I'd been to Georgia.... The 1st I was a kid & my family did some house boat thing for vacation... I remember catching anoles by the dozens & the size of the cats that swam up to the boat...

^^^oh, I knew what you meant, man.

... "anoles"?...lol, you mean those lizards, right?...if so, yeah, I wish I had a dollar for every one I caught as a kid. We're out in the country and I've grown so accustomed to the serenity out here that I don't really look forward to going into town for groceries and whatever.
...as far as Atlanta, that place is just insane nowadays...the traffic has become unbearable there.

All I know is that according to Charlie Daniels, the devil went down to Georgia....and I think Ron is related. :devilwink:

You'd be downright Shocked how many Yanx Fans live in Georgia. I'd say at least tit for tat. 1 Yanx fan for every Braves fan, easily. When I worked in Georgia in 96-97. There were at least 2-3 Yankee Fans per Braves Fans, at the Facilities.

If one counted Yankee Hats at work
in that Time, then I'd say perhaps 3-4 Yanx Fans per 1 Braves Fan.......(Braves Fans were a bit withdrawn when the Yanx took home the hardware, presented in Game 6).......that was more than they could bear......

If one counted tattoos and jewelry, that would be.............LMAO.....

That was about 15 miles (approx) north of 59.........!

I wish our boards existed then.......!

Yes, those lizards. they are semi-camouflage lizards... They can change from green to brown and back, but that's it...

^^^...yup, and they had those red throat flap thingys that you could spot from a long way off.

...I remember trying to use the word "anole" in a scrabble game one time and my opponent "challenged" me...I laughed because I knew it was a word...but it wasn't in the dictionary we were using...so I had to take the word back off and lose my turn...I was so pissed...could not believe it was not in that dictionary.

a bit more than double the distance I noted, further South from Perry, and those additional miles east too....~! Gorgeous Country down there, as nice, green, as any state. Those South East Beaches, (mostly Natl. Parks?), are effing incredible too.....~
