The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that Utah Atty. General John Swallow helped broker a deal in which Harry Reid was paid $600,000 to make a federal investigation into a private company owned by Jeremy Johnson go away.

Johnson produced documentation (emails, etc.) that sure look like he's telling the truth. The documentation includes a trail of checks and deposits as well.

The story is here, along with a fairly well detailed timeline:

Two truths:

1) When King Speed is present, it's a guaranteed Blazers loss

2) When bad things happen, somehow, George W. Bush is involved.

I can't imagine anyone being surprised.

I'd love to see Reid gone, but there's nothing here to implicate him in anything at all. :sigh:

Johnson said he had no documentation or direct knowledge that any of the money went to Reid or the senator’s associates.

The only way Republicans win presidencies is through fake prosecutions of major figures, as we endured during the Clinton era. This is the only technique they know. A large proportion of the Republicans in Congress are former prosecutors.
