Yeah but apparently Cuban doesnt want to do that because it would be a 30 million hit cause he's way over the salary cap.

If Dallas gave KVH an $11.7 million contract and then traded him and Devin Harris to the Nets for Kidd, that would work under the cap since a team trying to get Kidd has to come up with $15.7 million in contracts and Harris only make $4 million. KVH wouldn't have to play, just be on the roster as an inactive player.

Theoretically, it can also be done with second round draft picks whose rights are held by teams but who never signed a contract with them...mostly European players like Drejer. Second rounders are not bound by the restrictions on first round rookie contracts. Lots of teams have Euro-stash draft rights.

I was thinking that too. He could come out of retirement and play him-self for 48 minutes a game.

That means that we really missed out on Gasol...

But it also means that we might be able to get JO without giving up the big 3...

15,688K is needed to match JO-s 19,710k deal.

Boki, Mags and these 4 retired guys can make 10,5 mill by themselves.
We can add Krstic too, since if we trade for a big salary, than we surely don't want to extend Krstic this summer. That makes it 12,39.
Armstrong, Malik and Wright make it work salary wise... by adding 3,86, and making the sum 16,25

If we could somehow use Cliffy and Wesley too (I don't know why they aren't on the list, I think we can easily bring them out of retirement too, for that additional money...)
We could even keep Antoine. We can add a pick too.

That makes it Magloire, Nachbar, Krstic, Armstrong and Allen +pick for JO,
if we only regard active players.

For indy, it's Krstic, pick, plus all expirers, I think they do it...
For us it's a big financial gamble, but it makes Kidd happy, and we can contend.

That Would leave us With:
Jo/Sean
Boone/Stro
RJ/Wright
VC/?
Kidd/Marcus

Yes. Or anyone else. It doesn't matter. The playing rotation would be the 9 guys I listed.
