I really don't have a strong feeling on who will win the A.L East.
But I'll go with any two of Toronto, Boston or the Yanks finishing in 1st and 2nd place.
Win total - Yanks approximately 90 wins.
When I say approximately, giving or taking a game in either direction, "approximately" means somewhere between 89-91 wins.
For those of you who prefer to be more precise and pick an exact number, good for you!

Don't know if 90 or so Yankee wins will be good enough for a playoff spot - let's get there first and see what happens.

GO YANKS!

If I was to be fair and not biased I'd have to say Toronto is still the team to beat in the division. As for the Yankees if you were to tell me this team will win 90 games I'd be thrilled. I see them more in the 84-85 win range. The AL East issue is that I don't know if there's that one massive weak link the division. Everyone will compete and you play a ton of games against everybody. That make high win totals much harder to come by.

I hear ya.

The so-called experts have the Yankees at 85-87 wins with both the Blue Jays & Red Sox finishing ahead of them. I agree with the Blue Jays but once you get past Price the rest of the Red Sox staff is questionable.

IMO I think the biggest surprise on the Yankees this year is going to be the production of new comer Sterlin Castro.

GO YANKEES!

...I see both Boston and Toronto as the favs within the division.

...but as someone pointed out, every team in the AL East could win the division...and every team in the division could finish last.

Ron like I said after price I just don't see the pitching holding up. And I'm really hoping Ortiz falls on his ass.

...I think Boston's starting pitching probably has less question marks than the Yanx' staff...the Sox' starting pitching is not only much better, but their BP is light years better with the additions of Kimbrell and Smith....they are also much better defensively in the OF, plus their bench is very solid...they should be a minimum of 10 games better than last year.

...I don't see any reason for Ortiz to fall off that much if at all...we've tried to write him off many times before...and he'll be well rested too because he'll be occasionally platooned with Chris Young at DH.

Ouch, Boston's bullpen will be better than Yanks?
imo, it wouldn't be unrealistic to say Betances, Miller and Chapman are all better and more dominant than Kimbrel....and he IS very good.

I could be wrong but I'll leave it to ESP.NESN to drink the Red Sox Kool-Aid.

...the Sox BP is better than last year's BP...I didn't say their starters/BP was better than the Yanx's starters/BP...but thanx for assuming.

...if you had to bet one way or the other, do you think the Yanx's record will be better than the Red Sox's record?

My division prediction would be as follows.

Blue Jays
Yankees
Red Sox
Orioles
Rays

...so the Yanx miss the PS, right?...because I don't see the W/C coming out of the AL East.

...and I'd bet you a bag of Chee-tos the Sox end up with a better record.

^^^lol...just gave him one back on a called 3rd strike to Gomez.

I can see it being tight between a lot of teams. It depends on what happens with teams like the Indians.

...Jesus, wtf is with this HP ump...be consistent.

...his strike zone and base path call has single handedly given this game to the Astros.

I also don't see the WC coming out of the east either so yeah, the Yankees miss the post season.

^^^maybe the injury bug will bite some of the other teams instead of the Yanx.
