The wifey got her hair cut at a little salon on around 48th & NE Fremont. We ended up eating an early dinner right up from there at a small place called Amalfi's. Real nice. Ever been there?

Amalfi's is great! I actually haven't eaten there since I was 12 or so, but they were the sponsor of my little league team. We had the ugliest yellow uniforms.

Used to wash dishes there in high school. That's about 3 blocks from my house. Rashad Floyd, the guy on CSN owns that place.

HCP, are those your sheeds? I was shootin around yesterday in my Carolina White high's.

Ya, those are his Blazer ones and Piston ones!

I only read the thread title, and I am very sad now. Property values are down the toilets.

"THE" HCP - next time you come to my hood, can you give me like 6 months advance notice, so I can sell the house?

(Is that insider trading).

;)

Amalfis is pretty good I litterally live right around the corner from there

I walked past Stanich's and Alameda Cafe. Both look like good places to eat. Same with that Cha Cha Cha Mexican place.

Nice little neighborhood. Thought it was Alameda, but the signs on the street names said Rose City Neighborhood. :dunno:

Grew up over there.

Went to Beaumont school.

Played little league for Amalfis....back when there was a field behind the restaurant on the cemetary land called Blaesing Field.

My dads best friend used to own the hardware store up the street.

Rose City starts at around 57th. The Alameda Beaumont Wilshire neighborhoods all kind of meet right there. Stanichs is the best, my mom's good friend owns Alameda Cafe and if you want some great bento, my friends own The Red Fig on about 46th. Great neighborhood!

Ya, cdub503 and Nikolokolikolokolopolos live right here also!

Never spent much time there. Grandma lived on 39th about a block from Grant HS, and I lived with my mom's parents for a while behind the Albertson's on 82nd and Division. Need to expand my scope a bit.

I was over there too. But I got shot at so I left.

for us Westsiders, the Eastside is a strange and foreign place.

I hear that a lot and that is sad. I live in an amazing neighborhood with great restaurants, coffee shops, cool stores, art galleries, music stores, and what we around here call culture.

We had a great time. A true "neighborhood community" feel to it. People walking around enjoying the sunny day. Small little shops, etc., brimming with activity. Folks out in their respective yards doing this and that.

Other than downtown, I'm not so sure I would have seen much of that on the west side yesterday.

The happy hour menu is quite extensive and reasonably priced! We had spinach/artichoke dip off of that, but also ordered off the full dinner menu. My lasagna was perfect!
