Libel is writing knowingly false about someone, damaging their reputation. The key though is that stating an opinion is different, and protected - an opinion is just that. If someone here says "That Stevenson is a friggin' blowhard" I couldn't sue because it is an opinion. But if someone writes "That Stevenson sneaks into every Blazer game", I could probably sue because that is a false statement of fact.

Whether that media protection law would protect Denny from disclosing who says such a thing about me is an interesting wrinkle too.
