It just occurred to me. He's been the best player on the 2nd best team in the East at this moment. Could our guy finally be an All Star?

Yep. May be his only one, since it's just a contract year... he'll probably regress per usual after getting paid.

I think Batum is a lock for the allstar game but there's already a thread about this...the what's going on with ex Blazers thread

He's shooting better than 37% from 3. Not bad. Best of his career by far.

Why do we even entertain this negative question? Henderson missing "a lot" has nothing to do with this thread or the OP. It's just @Tunchi being Tunchi finding every opportunity to provide more negativity. Stay on topic.

Batum isn't available All-Star weekend. He's working out with Team France.
I think Americans can't handle international sports because most of the sports they like are of no interest to other countries. ("World Series" is seriously ironic.) But in actual football the idea of teams having to do without players because they're wanted for national team duty is pretty much understood. Or is this just simple Francophobia again?

Players Batum would be competing with for an All-Star spot (SF/SG):
LeBron James
Dwyane Wade
Paul George
Carmelo Anthony
(Those will certainly get in ahead of him, even though Batum's actually having a better season than Wade AND Carmelo.)
After that, who? Oladipo? Thaddeus Young? I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Batum voted in by coaches.

Batum is playing SG for Charlotte.

Jimmy Butler is certainly ahead of him for an all-star slot.

Nobody loved Batum's game more than me until last season...particularly after Wes went down..I think getting traded was a wake up call for him. He's a rare talent when he is engaged in the game. He had a chance to be our go to guy against Memphis and just looked disengaged for the whole series. I wish him well. I have never had a problem with any player representing their country in the world games. Our greatest players stateside have stepped up for team USA and still played a full season.

I am wrought with Francophobia. I can't even look at pastries.
What really scares me is when an NBA team pays huge contracts to players that show their mental and physical fatique from playing multiple years of summer ball with the national team.

What scares me more is paying huge salaries to guys who are always in a suit on the bench with crutches...#gregoden

It's you. Henderson's at least as effective as McCollum, and should be starting in his place.
Huh? CJ's played great and should start, Henderson is playing a lot better as he adjusts to Stotts system and shakes off the injury rust, he should be getting most of Harkless's minutes. First he deserves them and second we need to up his trade value
