Holy shit! College player Jack Taylor scored 138 points in a game tonight!

he was one assist away from a triple-single.

I can't believe some people are diminishing what this guy did. Yes, he took a TON of shots, but he also made a TON of shots.

Anyone cracking on him has never played competitive ball! Kobe even said if you score that many points you have the right to tell ANYBODY to fuck off!

some good comments there

This analysis is great, but it overlooks one of the lesser-known gimmicks of Grinnell Basketball. After a winning game, the team makes a human pyramid, and the leading scorer gets to be on the top, and pose with a parent for a special picture. What no one is talking about is that Taylor hurt his back late in the game, so after the picture, his poor mother had to help Jack off the rest of the team.

Sham or not, I still stand by the fact that it takes talent to score that many points.

The guy never got back on defense. His team deliberately gave up easy layups so they would get the ball back faster. And his teammates passed up wide open layups to get him more shots. The game was against a non-NCAA, non-NAIA school that considered this an exhibition game. Fuck yeah baby, I can score 138 points playing Nerf basketball against a bunch of 6-year olds. Put me in the record books, baby!!!

Seriously, this shit makes a farce of the game of basketball.

Do you think you could hit nearly 50% of your shots if you put up 108 field goals?

If nobody was guarding me, I never had to cross half court on defense, didn't need to rebound, pass, or do anything else. I hit more than 50% when playing horse.

They didn't say that nobody was guarding him. Listen, I'm not defending his coach or his team, but I still think it's impressive that the guy hit for nearly 50% on 108 field goals. I don't think I could do that, even if I was left open with nobody near me.
