Once again, just as in the San Antonio game, the Blazers took this team for granted. Except this time they couldn't eke out a victory. To get manhandled by the Warriors, who had lost 8 straight on the road, is just embarrassing.

I'm starting to really hate our 3-point shooting. Not only do we use the 3-point shot way too much, it becomes an excuse when we're too lazy to get to the hoop. This team is going to flame out very quickly in the playoffs if we don't start working the ball inside and getting higher percentage shots.

McMillan is known as a motivator, and I don't know why. GS has owned us in his era. Everyone saw this coming except him.

I think we'll be okay. We needed Camby. When Camby's playing I think we tend to take less 3's and he gets a lot offensive rebounds as well.

Nate's fault when the team loses a game. NBA EotY Cho's credit when the team wins.

Read the threads, people!

Everyone except Mike and Mike, apparently. They said on the broadcast tonight that "no one could have predicted this," and I wanted to scream, "Yes, they could have. We didn't show up against the Spurs when they sat their 4 starters, either!"

Anybody else have a problem with Barrett and Rice? I swear they seem like the dumbest guys in the arena sometimes.

Yes, I think they should be replaced by you along with Mediocre Man. Only then would everybody be happy.

I thought it was a great game.

Awesome thread

Everyone overreacting, as usual. It's pretty clear to me the Warriors were on fire...and the Blazers, not so much. 3 for 21 from distance and almost nothing from the reserves is not gonna cut it in the NBA

Warrios shot 50%, 43% from 3 and 86% FTs. When Monta Ellis is pulling up in transition and nailing 3s...there's not much you can do. Just one of those nights.

I see the same excuses we've read for 6 years after every predictable loss to Golden State.

In McMillan's 6 years, we have gone 7-14 against the Warriors. (Our average league record is .500 and theirs is .435.)

In the 5 years before McMillan we were 14-6 against them. (We averaged .529 against the league and they were .358.)

The point is, everyone knows that this team owns us, so this was no surprise. It's the last 5 games of the season, we play them twice, and we can't afford two losses. Our playoff position is at stake. Being blown out tonight at home probably means we won't win the road game on Apr. 13, so we saw two losses tonight.

It's the coach's job to know this and to motivate. I was more psyched up to beat the team that has owned us for 6 years, than McMillan was. Did you see him yelling and cussing at the team? Did he do anything except express a little mild worry? Just disgusting. It says worlds about how we'll do in the playoffs.

Did you see the same game I did??? Portland was not ready for this game, and it was clear they couldn't work up much intensity. They thought this was a gimme--and that attitude was their downfall.

Season is definitely over.

We need Oden, or someone like him.

They did stink tonight in the 2nd half, but can't we just be honest? Golden State is a bad matchup for us. We don't have anybody to stay in front of their guards. They spread us out defensively and keep us on our heels. Their weakness is obviously their interior defense, but we have a hard time exploiting that. They are completely content with giving us open jumpers all night. Makes you wonder why more teams don't do that. LA has scored 15, 17, 15 vs GS this season, and they've beaten us 2 out of 3 times. Could easily be 3 out of 3. And the smart money is that they beat us again down at their place on the 13th (even if that game means something for us).

We should fire Nate because he can't beat the Warriors, and we know the NBA Championship goes through Golden State every year.

Good teams lose to bad teams in this league. Just check out the NBA results tonight. Shitty game by our team, move on!

Its too bad we didn't have a State Farm Agent during the game. A fan on the 5th quarter show called in and mentioned about the shooting and how we needed an agent.

Everyone except for him, the mikes, and everyone who posted in the prediction thread today...

This is not just a random loss, so you shouldn't move on without learning from it. After soldiering 8-3 through a very hard ending schedule, we had 2 of 5 remaining games against easy teams, both teams named Golden State. Tonight's home blowout makes the road game a probable loss, so we won't just be "moving on" until we pay the piper. Not only was this game tonight probably 2 losses, it was 2 losses in our 2 easiest remaining games, so it makes the other games even tougher than we thought.

McMillan always makes everything harder than necessary. Start beating Golden State! Make it a priority and stop saying who cares.

Like a good neighbor, your intro was as awkward as that ad. You must work for them?

I think that tonight's blowout could mean a loss in Utah! Again, another team to take for granted. Add your thoughts about another loss in Golden State, leaves us with games against Memphis and Los Angeles. This team, because of a lack of chemistry (and a well designed offense) often plays to the level of our competition!

So I will go out on a limb and predict a loss in Utah, a win against Memphis an OT loss against Los Angeles - followed by a loss against GS!

;) Now the upcoming loss against GS will be largely in part because we will rest our key players and "go for the loss" to secure 8th seed and avoid a round one match-up against L.A.

I agree somewhat with the 3's but is is an important part of NBA scoring as we missed so many wide, wide open 3's, you gotta take most of those, unfortunately most of supposed our 3 pt specialists could not make chit last night

Yep.

That game was just ugly. All the way around, I can find nothing to take away from that stinker. Best to just flush that turd and look ahead to the next game.

There was a loudmouth GWS fan at section 334 that was flexing and talking shit at the end of last night's game - so I told him to enjoy the draft lottery again this year. This shut him up shortly. That was about the highlight of the game for me.

So when we beat the Heat, Magic, Spurs, Mavericks, Nuggets, Bulls, and Thunder, Nate has nothing to do with it? Nate's ability to coach is only judged by how he beats Golden State? What about our two wins against Cleveland? The Lakers lost to them. Does that mean 11 times decorated Phil Jackson is a bad coach? Why didn't he motivate them to beat the Cavs? Chill the fuck out. We're a good team and we've had a good season. Not great, but very solid and I'm proud of the team for that. Especially since our franchise player became a scrub this season who is less reliable than Travis Outlaw used to be for us. We also had to deal yet again with the loss of Oden. But Nate never made excuses. He coached who he had and got us into the playoffs in a competitive Western Conference. See the big picture.
