2-8 in their last 10..now tied for first with the A's....
600 for the season...

Verlander pitched to a 5.57 ERA in the Month of Aug

is their ship sinking

Still 3.5 up on the M's, with 2 more games against them this week, and then a series against Oakland next week. That AL west race is going to be very interesting over the final month. If the 'Stros can get right in their series' against the Angels, they'll probably be OK, but if they continue to struggle, missing the playoffs entirely is very, very possible.

There are some clubs out there that are as Paul Simon once sang "slip sliding away". Looks like Washington out and out quit trading Murphy to the Cubs and Adams to the Cardinals. Harper hit the waiver wire but no deal done there. I'd guess Rizzo is regretful that Harper was not traded. Though its been predicted that Houston will kick butt when they get their people back that same thing was said about Washington. National & American League Division Races could come down to the last week of the season.

...looking for the Sox to get a case of "the shits" too...they're about to lose their 3rd in a row.
