The Nets are an ideal situation for him. He has young daughters and lives in Connecticut close to the Westchester line...he and Thorn could carpool. He wouldnt have to move. Knicks are out of the picture. He would be called upon to do one thing: come in for Carter and shoot. He had one of the quickest releases in the NBA and if he can still stroke it, he is an able replacement for House. The problem is that his knee is arthritic and that doesnt go away. It deteriorates. He turns 37 this season. He could start off fine but then not be available as the season progresses. He would also sell a lot more tickets than Robert Hite.

He would cost the Nets about $800,000 to sign if all he wants is a vets minimum and it would be the height of chutzpah to ask for anything more. He made $40 million over the last two years of his contract and didnt play. I think the key determinant will be which team offers him a GUARANTEED vets minimum. I bet the Nets won't.
