I'm finally getting a chance the latter parts of the 2nd half and noticed that Bayless didn't do half bad against Brooks. Was curious how they matched up in college?

Brooks was an NBA rookie during Bayless' only year in college.

Um...Brooks totally had his way with Bayless last night in the 4 minutes they faced each other.

Frankly, I was surprised Jerryd couldn't stay with him or curb his passing in the least.

To be fair though, the game was over at that point so Brooks was able to sit back, get a couple of quick assists and a 3 without having to penetrate much, and Jerryd obviously came in cold off the bench. He did draw a foul on Brooks with a drive, and made 20% of our FT's (2).

I'll tell you how Roderick Stewart faired against Bayless

Oh Snap.

Wow, Bayless was ahead of him but somehow allowed him to pass by for a dunk.

That happens all the time as dudes go up in the level of competition they are playing. They think they can sit back and time it and just let their athletic ability do the rest, but then they find out the guys they are playing against are much better and much more athletic then they thought.

Brooks never scored a point on Bayless in college.

That's a damned lie. I just sat down and re-watched it. Bayless did a very good job of staying in front of Brooks and contesting shots. Better that anyone else did.

Maybe I let my objectivity cloud my homerism? :dunno:

Nope, checked the play by play and it's clear Brooks was not bothered by Bayless in the least and got more assists per minute against him than any other guard.

But if by "stayed in front of him" you mean "backed way off and let him shoot 3's" then you might have something there.

No knock against Bayless, as few SG's can guard any PG adequately.
