I definitely rebuke the last paragraph of this article, and the next to last paragraph, ie, "Sometimes I feel the Fans are a little too hard on Brian Cashman" (not my words, the articles), ...

rebutt: Bull fkng shit, Yanx Fans expect perfection, reload time again, yet this very GM is one of many reasons, the Yanx needed to rebuild to begin with, Tadpole is not exempt either.... hard my ass, when you run the world's most incredible Team, we expect perfection every fkng day, that is the precedent/norm; anything else is not worth repeating.....

Or- "Cashman proved why he’s considered one of the best general managers in baseball".

rebutt: No Cashman is NOT considered one of the best GM's in the game, Gene Michael (was); Sabean (was), Dombrowski and Epstein are, (of more current times)....

Overall- our GM did his job, and didn't do bad, he did good, but not GREAT; (great, can only be determined in the years to follow, as these individuals pan out and become stars or has been's)....

and- yes, He landed some very interesting and probably very good talent. Thank God Nova is gone, but why not Pineda, Headley, Gardner, Ellsbury, and a couple of others.....???

^^^ This...highly touted prospects are good on paper but I've always been of the opinion that I'd rather have players who have already proven they can produce on the MLB level and help your team now in lieu of prospects who may or may not pan out in the future.

...just because you have some youngsters on the farm does not mean you can't use them to smartly acquire established players. (keyword; "smartly")

After acquiriing all the hired guns the last few years and seeing how that has worked out I'd like to go back and do what we did in the early mid nineties with another young core and then supplement that with a couple of experienced players. As much as I dislike cashman he did a good job in acquiring some young highly touted prospects and I look forward to seeing the youth perform and excel starting with sanchez coming up tmo shortly followed by judge and austin and with frazier and others arriving next year and the year after. Finally something optimistic to look forward to

...not sure where they'd play...the highest rated of all of the newly acquired youngsters is a SS and for the foreseeable future bot SS and 2B are covered...and with the rise of Judge and Bird RF and 1B are covered...plus Headley and Ellsbury and Gardner have 3B and CF and LF covered for the next 2-3 years anyway.

...well, for one, in game 6, if Torre had not benched Lofton who had many bunt singles in his career, he would have likely made Schilling and his "bloody sock" very uncomfortable by making Schilling use that bad ankle...in fact, Torre didn't have any of his players bunt against Schilling in that game.
