I remember growing up saying "24 miles to the gallon on the highway".
But recently I've seen a ton of ads saying "24 highway miles per gallon" (or something similar. I can't find any proof of it now, but I swear they changed how they said it).
How did you say it?
It's kind of like Soda vs Pop.
Some people say soda, some people say pop, some people say soft drink and some people say "pass me the beer, you queer".
