Ask Josh Boone.

And Vince, how’d he look? Carter had off-season ankle surgery and initial reports say he’s fine. Your take, Josh?

“Every time I see him, it just reaffirms the fact that I’ve never
seen anyone more talented on the basketball court. He’s not going full
out right now,” Boone said, “but when he was out here he looked good.”

Boone said Carter ended a 3-on-3 game by doing a 360 move to provide an exclamation point. And there was more.

“He’s doing Vince things at this point. Shooting left-handed 3-pointers, making them,” raved Boone, who was talking about upping his own range to like 15 feet. “I hate that so much. It’s so annoying.”

Okay, we promise not to make any lefty 3-pointers in front of Boone. Or anybody else.

I cant wait for Vinsanity next season!! :D If he can pull of 360's and left handed 3 pointers. He looks good to me.

Quitter.
Wince Carter
Bum.

Just kidding, but we all knew that this guy is capable of amazing feats. The problem is keeping him healthy so that he can be this amazing guy that Boone is seeing now.

Boone thinks VC can average 25+ plus a night left handed if
not stated in the article. I like to see that. I think he can do it.
Just as lethal with the left. You would be amazed to see how many
he can make in a row left handed.

when i read that the first time, i was like "damn, boone is a vc hater too"

but then i re-read it and realized he was meaning like hes not going 100% so soon after surgery. just like oden is doing in portland...at least thats what i think he means....

nice find

Good job Vince, practicing your left-handed 3 is always a great way to spend the offseason, lol.

Great to hear VC shooting with his left hand!!!!

That is the way to improve your game. Forget about the fundamentals and better shot selection. Lets work on more trick shots.

Exactly, I knew I wasn't the only one who felt this way.

I don't understand players who waste tons of time on things that wont help them in a game. Vince should take some leadership training courses or something instead of working on shots that will impress in pre-game warmups.

I remember one time at a Seattle game Flip Murray went one on one with a 4 year old kid for the whole pre game warm up. Jannero Pargo has done the same thing. Vince wore his Ipod during warm ups before they banned it. These players need to get it together.

since vince has been in new jersey, he has been a great leader. so he needs training courses on being a leader? come on dude, that is just a thoughtless comment. he has said all the right things and done all the right things for the most part. i guess some people will never be supervised.

and guys, do you honestly believe, in your heart of hearts that ALL VINCE DID was do left handed three pointers? if you do, then wow....have fun with that

vince does do things like this. left hand three pointers...he does it in practice all the time. and every pre game warm up i see of his, he does halfcourt and EXTREMELY long three pointers. he even does it when a whistle blows in a game sometime during a deadball. he is a fun loving guy. he gets slammed on boards like this for smiling during games and during loses. heck, he did it last year when the nets got eliminated in TO! that is who he is and i wish he wouldnt smile...but i really dont mind vince having fun in practice and getting used to playing.

i really would not waste your time hating vince for playing on his recently worked on ankle and doing some circus shots.

the man is a showmen. give him some room and give the bi*ching a rest ;)

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

I think you meant to say satisfied.

That is cool man. I agree with you here.

I dont think he did this only, but I do think he doesnt work on his game as hard as Superstars do. Do you agree?

Yeah you are right. That is who he is. That is the way he will be. That is VC being VC.

Once again you are right. He is only a showman. Highlights on ESPN. 360 layups. Half Court Shots. Crazy Slam Dunks.....

Jumping through flaming hoops.

Why not practice driving to the basket? Oh boy, there's an idea!

Umm . . .

"Carter had off-season ankle surgery . . . He’s not going full out right now"

Maybe that's why not? Just a guess though.

yes i meant to say satisfied. sorry. very tired over here ;) been up since 6pm yesterday with no sleep

I dont think he did this only, but I do think he doesnt work on his game as hard as Superstars do. Do you agree?

short answer, yes, with a but.

the but is that we honestly dont know everything that goes into his workout. i do know that the media has a negative slant on vince so they will report everything he does wrong. we are fans. we dont know.

in 2001, vince was in the gym THE NEXT DAY after missing the shot in game 7. he said he made it 12 times in a row. in 2004, kevin o neil, the raptors coach, said that vince was the toughest and hardest working player hed ever coached. and i seem to remember last year vince being in the gym after the cleveland loss for a while. personally, i have been satisfied with his work ethic. can it be better like kobes? yes. it can. but i think its pointless wishing that cause that is why kobe and kobe and vince is vince. hes not gonna be like kobe and he gets hate for that so....take it for what its worth.

Why not practice driving to the basket? Oh boy, there's an idea!

remember the stat on nets daily showing that vince and wade drive to the basket the most out of superstar guards? and kobe and tmac take the most jumpers? someone should bring that up.

i think vince had a 2 year period where he would shoot too many jumpers. 2003 and 2004 season. since then, he has been really good about driving to the basket. yeah he can do it more and sometimes he makes bad decisions where he should drive, but for the most part? hes pretty good about driving

You would be surprised to know that VC is one of the few SG's in the league who actually DRIVE's to the basket a lot more compared to other SG's.

Oh snap!!!

Hodge: “Don’t Believe the VC Haters”
Julius Hodge said:
Last week, I was with Vince Carter in his camp and had a really good time working with him there. You hear all the critics talking about how he doesn’t seem to care and then you spent time with him… And well, I’ll tell you one thing: Don’t believe the haters. He didn’t become a star in the NBA for no reason. Being around him, you can see that he’s a consummate pro and that he puts a lot of effort in his workouts. Besides, he’s a truly likable and personable guy that’s always trying to help. Down the road, I would like to be a little being like him. You know, the veteran guy who tries to teach stuff to the young players.
Just like him for what he does. The guy does bring value. More than anyone else on the team now.

case in point

vince is so good that i enjoy seeing him do things like this:

[video=youtube;2MGkufgRZvM]

Which he does quite often, too.

lol, No he doesnt.

04-05 = 0.398%
05-06 = 0.404%
06-07 = 0.406%
07-08 = 0.366%

OMG! Offensive Juggernaut just like VC!

And unlike Carter,
Kidd does what is expected of him.

Ofcourse! He made Chris Paul look irrelevant in the 1st round of the playoffs last season and cruised to the 2nd round.

Good one, right there! How well did Carter play in the series against Toronto? We can keep going at this all day. It's amazing to me how you try to convince me that Carter isn't a failure, despite being so talented. Please.

If it wasn't for his fans, I probably wouldn't hate Carter as much.

LMAO, first comment on the Kidd FG% i posted.

Second of all, your talking about VC's play during toronto series?..Umm...i admit game 1 and 2 he was horrible, but game 3 and 4 he was D-o-m-i-n-a-n-t.....Dont you remember 9/10 FG in 1st half of game 3?...and game 4 his 6/8 FG in 1st quarter that actually resulted in blow out by Nets?...Oh and the reason Nets came back into game 5 all because of VC?....and Game 6 he played pretty decent because RJ was better during that game, so thats 2 games out of 6 games VC did not perform well.

It would have made more sense if you talked about the Cleveland series instead.

But Vince Carter doesn't have fans, because he sucks so much and he's such a failure.

Nobody likes Vince!

Well, he has one fan. That one fan hacked into the NBA's computers and gave him like a billion votes.

Clearly.
