I long thought the Yanks might be the first, ........

until I watched this Crazy Bid for the Bums in Divorce Court.

Now, this Guggenheim Group, IMO threatens the core of Baseball itself, the way no other Team has ever mocked the MLB system. Paying 1/4 of the Marlins payroll. 85+ Million b/t 8 Players, they don't even have on the Roster at all........

I bet within a couple or less years, this Guggy group will also be the 1st to hit 400$$$ Mil.
NTM-the very topical hot talk of the Time Warner Bros Cable Fiasco too.....combine the two, and its not in MLB's interests, or the Fans......its within its ownership only.

Makes me miss the Singing Cowboy that much more........now he could tango with Guggy, chase Him out of town via horseback, and sing a song on the way back. Six shooters Silver Plated......

exactly, you got it......the local papers were talking of how bringing in Ron Roenicke can make Donnie BB expendable. I'd hate to see it, cause Don's done as good a job as the sum parts of his Component, ie Team......

There's never been a debate as to Mattingly's Will, Motivation, or Skills. Last year after Kershaw hung the 2 strike hanging curve RF pavilion to Adams, as I expected, as did Adams himself sit & wait for it,

.......point being, a lot of talk across the boards of papers, MLB News, put Donnie BB in a bad light, in light of Friedman coming, Colletti being asked to step down, then up into a BS Consultant PR TV clown.

Yet not one paper, or fact based baseball rag, could pin anything on Donnie, as the problem with the Bums. Last year they had the 4th worst Bullpen, (even if Kershaw didn't allow a bullpen shit)...

My point, Mattingly will probably be fingered, since I honestly can't see the Bums getting past Frisco or about any NL Team. However in all fairness, the Bums had a solid 5 deep SP's coming out of Spring Training, the Bums are 1 of 6 Teams, who have gone through over 25 Pitchers, incl the pen, Yanx also, and a few others.

I believe no doubt they'll take the NL West Pennant, but that's it.....and they'll pin it on Donnie, tho' he deserves better, and I hope MLB keeps Him gainfully employeed. IMO, one of the best Hitters/1st Base Defensive Coach, for any Team...........

With the Giants just putting both there CFer (Pagan) & there RFer (Pence) on the DL joining there starting 2nd baseman Panik, I really don't see the Giants catching LA.

Had to laugh at Adam Jones comments, salary cap shit, the man is making around 13 mil a year then talks about other teams spending. News flash Adam, a lot of your team mates are approaching free agency lets see what happens. As far as his comments on the late 90's early oughts Yankee Teams they spent well but wisely. With the two ex top Tampa and Oakland Execs now in LA I thought the Dodgers would get wise, evidently that is not the case. And yep, Mattingly will be the scapegoat.

Funny thing - we can say the Yanks have a lesser payroll than some other team and the "other team" doesn't have a better W-L record.
We could even say Yanks may be the better more consistent team.
Both teams 67-53, however, the Yanks are one of only three teams in MLB who have a winning record at home AND on the road albeit by one game yet much better than Dodgers who are eight games under .500 on the road.

I'd have to take some flack as well, never remember Donnie Baseball having management desires. I said this in '08 and stand on it today, Girardi was the right choice overall. If Donnie gets shafted after this season I'd like to see him back in any capacity but the manager.
