The players seem to love him, and he seems like a very nice guy, but lets face it, he's not a great coach. How much longer until he is officially on the hot seat? I mean, we have the worst defense I think I've ever seen on a team, they keep making the same terrible mistakes every sing game, every single year. And He's turned some players with potential into stand still volume 3 point shooters when shooting from distance clearly isn't their strength.

IMO Olshey should get the axe before Stotts, the "material" Stotts has to work with was put together by Neil, and this past offseaso IMO was a fiasco

Seriously? (Close) Runner up for coach of the year last season. You can't put him on the hot seat. Something isn't right with the team, but Stotts isn't the scapegoat. We might have to ditch his conservative defensive approach, but it's way too early to talk about canning him.

Olshey hasn't put together the best pieces, but Stotts has severely misused his players talents. I think one of the biggest things I've noticed is that his offense hasn't changed at all in the last 3 years. It's the same plays being run, and he hasn't shown an ability to change things ups. I guess I wish he gave players minutes that earn them, not players that have just been on the team longest. I don't see how Leonard should be receiving any minutes at this point. And Crabbe should be seeing minimum minutes at this point too with how inconsistent he's been .

Hell yeah, Stotts got 44 wins out of a team that almost every nba analyst thought would be a basement team. OLSHEY decided to give them contracts that'll put them into luxury tax territory next year. Though I have to say, I think the team could be more middle of the road in terms of defense instead of sucking.

Offense is OK, the guys just seem lost playin D, I mean we are awful. I say keep Stotts but hire a coach for D

play Slayman more, obviously.

TBH i dont think Stotts wears this 100%, NO has played a strong hand in pulling this team together, and some of the scramble signings are looking like bad choices at the minute.

In saying that i think we're maybe a consolidation trade away from having a legit front court player. hopefully. my god we need it.

I'm happy to move CJ, Crabbe, Turner, Meyers (obv), Plum, and Aminu or any combo of them for the right trade.

i dont think anyone outside of Dame and Layman are untouchable (thus far). Ed and aminu do have decent contracts tho, and mo.

I like Stotts, but I just caught a strong whiff of Mark Jackson when I read that...

Man three years ago we won 30 games before losing 9. Two years ago, midway thru the season, Terry had a top 10 defense with a top 5 offense.

This is a personnel issue. until guys tune him out, you keep him there. Easy to make him the scapegoat with this flawed roster.

This. I've been saying this for the past year. His plays are old and completely predictable. Add in the fact that there's nobody on this team besides Dame, and CJ (who is inconsistent more often than Good thus far this year) who can stretch the floor, and it's all but impossible to have an open lane in the paint.

And when you don't have anyone on the bench besides Crabbe (2 points tonight.....) and Meyers (our 7-1 SG who is anything but an NBA-caliber player) who you can pass out to, then that's a major problem. And it's showing.

All we have is a bunch of middle-of-the-road role players, and no defined position players. And THAT is on Olshey.

So they BOTH deserve the blame. Boring predictable plays + bad defense + lack of proper timeouts = Stotts.

Players with no defined role and no skill set = Olshey.

I don't envy Paul Allen. He's gonna have to make a decision here sooner or later.

umm, I am not at all sure Stotts' in not reason for Meyers being what we see. Apparently without ever improving.

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm sure that if he went to San Antonio, Pops would turn him into an All Star.

But Stotts ain't Pops. Unfortunately.

Highly doubt that. Pop would yell at Meyers once, and Leonard would go crying. Pop uses his doghouse more than any other coach in the NBA. He would break Meyers' spirit. Terry is the most easy going coach in the NBA. If Meyers is so mentally fragile now, imagine what a guy like Pop would do to him

Eh....not so sure about that. I think Pops would make him put on 20 or 30 lbs of muscle, then put him in the paint and make him specialize in Defense, and perhaps continue to develop his mid-range game.

Which is what an NBA player who's 7-1 SHOULD be doing.

And I don't know about you, but the thought of Leonard with just 25 lbs of extra muscle being a defender in the paint is terrifying to me if I'm a 6-2 PG.

I get the love for pop, he's a legend. I get tired of people saying he just turns every player into gods. This is false. Meyers isn't mentally capable of handling that. Coaches can do a lot for the player but the player needs to be somewhat compatible too. He's gotten lamarcus to somewhat fit into their system. Gotten a lot of others but let's not act like this dude can turn water into wine

Alright, fair enough.

I guess I don't see Meyers as the weakling that everyone else does. I mean, not too many weaklings can piss off and shut down Cousins without breaking a sweat. I just think the dude is uncoordinated. Grossly uncoordinated. And I think that if he had a designated coach who focused on his muscle mass and ball control in the paint, not to mention Defense, he'd be far better than he is now; if not a Star.

Before we panic, I want to see what we do when Aminu comes back. BNM, what has our D been like before and after Aminu's injury? I think Aminu is underrated because he is so inconsistent on offense, but I've long thought he's better than his stats indicate. Looking at team D before and after could prove that, or it might not.

Speaking of Sly and Denny, why do the Teflon Dons get a pass when we lose?
