The owners invented their own wish list, defined them as the issues last summer, extracted maximum concessions, and then caved in on the remaining ones they couldn't get.

The players caved themselves, because the longer this went on, the stronger the players' position got. They played the role of the conceding nice guys.
 
I am really happy for people like you, John, who depend on the league for income. It will take me a bit to forgive the league though

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it involves video editing. And, essentially every Blazer employee owes Mike Rice a lunch, it's like in their contract or something.
 
I am happy for you, HCP, but I was resigned to no season and will be rather unhappy if the owners do not get a system that works.

I dont think I would even follow the NBA again if we have to see shit like James and the Labone head show happen. Collage ball, while still tainted, is much more pure.

Sign-and-trades made the cut, which means more megastars to LA and NY are still in play ... so no, I don't think they developed a system that fundamentally makes the league more competitive.

WTF? So NBA players choose to play with their friends, and it's a crap system. College players also have the right or ability to go wherever they want, and team up with THEIR friends, and it's much more pure.
FREE agency. Players can choose where they want to go. If we had a healthy Roy and Oden, and Lebron decided to take less money to play here with our "dynasty" nobody here would give a shit about this.
