How Would You Rank Obama?

In meltdown due to republicans purposely trying to sabotage it, and iirc, a group that flooded the website and caused it to crash.

haha. nope.

The Republicans were essentially right, this law was not ready in any way, shape or form. It was at LEAST a year away.

Yes it is IMO. His signature plan is still being worked out. Depending on how ACA shakes down will have a significant impact on how he is ranked historically. Currently everyone is reacting to it very emotionally and basing their love or hate of it based on partisan propaganda and inconclusive premature results.

In other areas, foreign policy he is doing ok. The economy is rebounding and the stock market is soaring again..... this could be argued as a falsely propped up economy, but at this point results are results.... Again he has three years to make this better or make this worse.

He has been a fantastic president on social issues. Gay marriage, abortion and such, also religeous freedoms (not the crack pot religious right freedoms, but the religious freedoms of everyone else). Welfare is doing what it is suppose to besides what the entitled elite of the country will tell you.

The NSA stuff is bullshit, but honestly I wouldn't expect anything different from any other president. The security/freedom is always a balance and the government will always try for extra security at the expense of freedom. People hate loosing their freedoms but if something bad happens all the complain about is "what was our government doing, why couldn't we stop this." Its our job to push back on government in this area.

The ACA website is a total disaster. This part irks me more than anything as there was a ton of money spent on it and Obama and the dems knew that if this didn't go off without a hitch the crazies would actually get some traction. Personally though I wouldn't be surprised to find some sort of sabotage in this area and I believe once the program get off the ground it will do plenty of good.

So, as I said before inconclusive, but theres my reasoning.

I may disagree, but a well reasoned post.

His policies on social issues cost the taxpayers little or no money. Those may actually separate him from Carter as far as worst goes.

He really spent all his time running for the next higher office, and sadly did not learn how legislation works. I don't think he spent the time to read any Bill, let alone ACA.

The unilateral changes in the law being done by the Executive are extraconstitutional at best.

He may not have even known there was a WWW site being developed, and he certainly and admittedly has no understanding of its feasibility let alone status.

Golf is good, though. Keeps him from inflicting even more damage on the republic.

Obama is the worst and most dangerous president we have ever had. I won't even go into all the reasons already cited here, which are all good in their own right. He has also shown a disregard and ignorance of the Constitution that is unprecedented. To cite just two examples, he suspended part of the ACA for one year for businesses, and he is now "allowing" people to keep their old health plans for one year even though they don't satisfy the requirements of the ACA. Neither of these actions are constitutional. The Constitution gives the president the power to enforce the law, but not to change it. Only Congress can change a law. If Obama wants certain provisions of the ACA changed, he has to ask Congress to do that. He can't just willy-nilly do it himself.

Obama also perpetuated one of the most blatant and destructive lies ever foisted on the American people when he promised (30 times) that people could keep their health plans if they wanted to. So far, around 5 million have lost their plans, and that number is going to swell dramatically. Could be over 100,000 million very soon. He also promised that the average American family would see a $2,500 decrease in their health insurance premiums, but we know that premiums are going up dramatically--not down. Both of these statements were made in order to promote his legislative agenda and --more importantly -- to win an election. This is massive fraud, and Obama would be prosecuted and put in jail for it if he were a CEO in the private sector.

He's also quietly purging the military of some of its best and brightest generals: he's fired 9 so far, which is an unprecedented. The media has completely overlooked this little fiasco.

Benghazi is an utter disgrace, and he is responsible for it. He is the only president I know of who consistently denies knowing anything about what is happening on his watch, while being responsible for all of it. The persecution of conservative groups by the IRS is a massive abuse of federal power, as is the wholesale spying on Americans by the CIA and other branches of the federal government, not to mention our wiretapping of friends and allies around the world. All of this is going on right now, and continues to happen on this president's watch.

This is what happens when you elect a marxist community organizer with big dreams who never even ran a lemonade stand in his life. Obama is a radical ideologue who is good at making fancy speeches but horrible at running a country or respecting the essence of this country's principles and traditions.

Don't forget faking those unemployment numbers a month before the election!

Q: How would you rank Obama?

A: Incomplete

Any other answer is riddled with self prejudices and canned partisan responses.

I don't get to answer here, but this seems highly illogical and seemingly a copout hidden behind a bash against "partisans". Lincoln gets ranked, and Obama's been President longer than Lincoln was. So does Kennedy. And Carter. And 21 other Presidents. If Obama resigned tomorrow, he'd be ranked. It's not an incomplete to assess where he's at today, in a poster's opinion.

Lincoln and Kennedy are both dead, their presidencies are over. Obama's not and there is some pretty big stuff up ahead that could move the needle one way or another. Read the whole thread though, I explained my thinking in more details.

You mean, there's more damage to be done?

Yikes!

I read your post and understand, but I still stand by my point that calling anyone out who doesn't agree with your "incomplete" as partisan isn't logical.

There are plenty of things ahead, sure, and it could go either way, sure. But he has a body of work larger than 24 other Presidents who ARE ranked. And you can't ignore (good or bad) whatever's gone before just because ACA isn't fully implemented or the troops haven't all been brought home yet.

Actually, I thought he put up a fair post supporting Obama.

He posted his opinion, not fact

AMA is a disaster

Foreign policy has been a joke

Saying the NSA stuff is a joke is laughable, go ahead and give up every right you have and make excuses on how its OK, just to not blame this president..pfffft

last but not least, to say that the website was sabotaged..lol, you had best get one of Maris's tin foil hat..if this could have been placed at the feet of the opposition with any believe-ability, oboma would have done soalready

If someone sabotages your attempt at something, how exactly is that your fault?

How is it an "excuse" to say that there was a cyber attack on the website, therefore causing it to lag?

Yeah, they should've been better prepared for that, but if those attacks didn't happen, it wouldn't have been an issue.

come on, there have been recent reports that they were aware months ago that this would be a cluster, yet they still lied to the public and said everything was fine. The only sabotage involved was what your people did to the truth and trust of the american people. I can not believe that you are unable to realize when you are being screwed..

Ok then your correct, you don't have to be partisan to give Obama a grade. Grade away, mine is an I for incomplete.

You also posted your opinion and not fact. Your opinions do not discredit mine, no matter how much you laugh at them.

Ok 20 stories on each topic then. GO!

I don't view my opinions or yours as "the truth" by the way.

why must you troll?

Troll? You mean like asking you to back up one of your ridiculous claims?

Ok then I can come up with 21 stories that back me up, 21 is greater than 20 so there for I'm right and your wrong.

we both know if I were to bother to take the time, you would still argue. To be frank, you are not worth it.

Eisenhower came into office amid a successful coup-in-progress which stonewalled most of his power, but he had the stones to expose the plot to the country and the world.

John and Bobby Kennedy fought the coup tooth and nail and were murdered for it.

In my lifetime, those are the three greatest Presidents. I say three because only murder prevented Bobby from becoming President, and because as Attorney General he did more for America than most Presidents ever did.

Every President since then has known the score and simply followed orders, making them nothing to be proud of and their "accomplishments" suspect at best.

How could JFK possibly be rated one of the greatest Presidents??? He was in office for less than 3 years!

And his main accomplishment was... almost getting us into nuclear war.

I think Jackie was rated the greatest, JFK was a good PT boat driver though.

Obama is the President I'd most like to smoke a joint with, watch a big game, and talk sports.

Clinton was the President I'd most like to have a beer with and talk policy.

W. Bush is the President I'd most like to have a steak with and talk about family.

Reagan is the President I'd most like to have a gin and tonic with and interview him about some of the major decisions he made in the '80s.

Nixon is the President I'd most likely run away from, because he was just creepy.

Kennedy is the President I'd most like to go to a club with and pick up chicks.

Teddy Roosevelt is the President I'd most like to hike the Appalachian Trail with.

FDR is the President I'd most like to sit around a fire with, making S'mores and drinking hot cocoa, while he reads Walt Whitman.
