I really hope she doesn't take credibility to teaching him English.

By the sounds of it, the packets are teaching him English, and he's frustrated about it while she sits there and paints her toenails. She probably has a great pension, though! I thought it was a pretty composed rant for a HS student, one grammatical error aside.
Doubt she has a pension, she looked young.
Somehow i think it was staged. Notice that none of the other students said much of anything.
I don't think it was staged. You could hear his voice start to quiver like he was on the very verge of crying. If that was acting, he was pretty impressive.
I'm not sure that's always a good sign, but it could be.
It also could be that he someone with a disability, and it is not uncommon for their voices to quiver when they get agitated.
I would love to know the back story on that. It seems like the kid might be new to the class or the school and very unhappy with that teacher using pre packaged material to teach the class...I know how un inspired I have been in situations like that..and yes,I am projecting a bit here..
I'm guessing a lot of the posters here he should have just sat there like a dummy and let himself be indoctrinated with mindless printed propaganda.
this dude needs to read the Art of War. Fighting a useless battle here. :MARIS61:
Would one of you Yanks be so kind as to tell me what a packet is?
it's several papers stapled together. Staples are small pieces of metal wire which bind things.

So it's notes or something stemming from standardization? I mean would the same high school course taught by multiple teachers all have the same packets?
The teacher passively remained in her seat because she could see a student filming. In my day, the teacher would have either been in his face, or have left to get the Asst. Principal.
Sounds like a cake job.... she could bring a computer and surf the web while her students do whatever they want to do.

The video doesn't provide enough background to really take a side. Those that claim they would have stood up and clapped for this kid already have a bias that they're blindly hoping this video proves. And even if this video is an accurate representation of both sides of the story, I can agree with his point, but his way of expressing his displeasure shouldn't be applauded and is pretty stupid.
