Hmmm, I think the Big Island will get the worst, which is where I'll be. It will be weakening a little and may really wind down wind speed wise before it gets there. The rain on the other hand...They're saying Kauai may be devastated, flights out are booked solid.

Thanks bruhStay safe and enjoy your vacation fams.

we hardly ever get hit, with that said hilo side, puna took some damage from trees and folks there were without power for over 2weeks last one,(less than 150 customers for those 2 weeks, most restored power within 3 days, tall week trees in the puna district) the mountain will divert/break up most systems and wind shear usually pushes systems north or south. kona side hasn't seen damageing storms in my memory. storm surge can make waters rough and dangerous to the inexperienced.Hmmm, I think the Big Island will get the worst, which is where I'll be. the hurricanes move relatively fast and the rains should last way less than 24 hours usually a 6 hour period max. it is a mountain the big island of porous volcanic lava , flooding would also likely be very short lived with a few exceptions for areas prone to flooding. rains some most days hamakua, hilo and puna anywayHmmm, I think the Big Island will get the worst, which is where I'll be. memories of hurricane iniki. devastated Kauai then some resorts were never rebuilt. gets flooded on most depressions and seems to be a magnet for rain. wettest place in US I think? They're saying Kauai may be devastated, flights out are booked solid.
Theyre right in the middle for tropical waves. Some of them pack as much rain as a tropical storm, but aren't organized enough to be declared one.memories of hurricane iniki. devastated Kauai then some resorts were never rebuilt. gets flooded on most depressions and seems to be a magnet for rain. wettest place in US I think?
No, I believe that belongs to HCP's wife!memories of hurricane iniki. devastated Kauai then some resorts were never rebuilt. gets flooded on most depressions and seems to be a magnet for rain. wettest place in US I think?
Those fronts are often what turns hurricanes to the north and out to sea (Its what turned Iniki due north toward Kauai in 92) I don't think there's one coming through though. How far the storm misses the island to the north depends on how much the ridge north of the storm weakens. Thats good news for the whole island chain, since there's a bunch of dry air to the north and west of the storm.i live on the big island, Kauai is the western most of the main Hawaii islands and the eastern pacific storms that bend north of the big island are the ones that for some reason gather strength and moisture to pound Kauai. seems counter intuitive as the waters north of the chain are much much cooler. much of the rain cmes from the fronts dropping down from the aluetian chain that's where the 5-O sets come from that cause the huge north shore breaks, most of the regular weather pattern comes from our NW
yeah that's the same with the patterns up in the Pacific Northwest. Those troughs rumble through the Pacific to the western US coast. In the summer they seem to sweep south from Canada through the plains.those lows roaring down the aluetian chain are generally a oct-april weather pattern here and there.
Not a drop of rain from it. Howner I got a really bad sunburn. Anyone got any remedies other than aloe vera?
Have a friend piss on you.
Oh, wait, that's for jellyfish stings.
Never mind.
