You know Michael I am a big Weather Geek so I am tuned in to see what happens.I spent time in Texas, they get killer flash floods in that state now they have this hurricane to add on to that. I sympathize with those people, the areas where that storm is projected to hit is low lying territory. I hope those affected can find every way possible to get out of harms way!

Glad everything worked out for you guys. All that over state formation means is that we'll likely see more than usual rain. Typical Florida July & August. Took my dog for a walk this AM and about 3 blocks along she got ditzy, did a you turn and the thunder came crashing. They hear it before we do. We took a speed walk home just barely beating the rain. June through November can put people on edge as it should. If I thought a cane of any size was going to hit this area I'd grab the squeeze, the dog and haul buggy out of here. I have reliable insurance to cover losses.
Yep, local officials called it a "rain event" . Reminds me of my old buddy Ray "Noggin Head in New Orleans. Any area along the Gulf Coast has got to have plans for evacuation when these things occur. Official word hell, if suspecting a major Caine here in St Pete myself, squeeze, and Beagle would be driving up 19 north.
Macon, Georgia right??? Enjoy.... I hate Rain....now the rain is heading my way...but we can really use 3-4 inches.

Yeah Michael I know what you mean, I lived in Florida for only a year but I remember how bad the rain can get.Been getting a lot of rain in this part of Florida, Tampa & St Pete flood bad enough during normal rain, but with the Tropical Wave over Florida we got an increase. Manatee & Pasco Counties have gotten the shaft lots of flooded streets, stranded neighborhoods and the like. Reminds me a bit of Monsoon Season in the Far East.
so reminiscent of Katrina, when the fkng Mayor (now a felon doing time), refused to declare a SOE, not wanting to be embarrassed by evacuating, and the costs required IF the Hurricane rerouted and might of missed Nawlins. Nagin looted the cities coffers, and made the Fed's look incompetent, however years later, the truth be known.
12 years ago yesterday, as well as the days prior and post-
clipped from Wiki-
"The large number of deaths were a result of the insufficient response and evacuation before Katrina's arrival, primarily due to city and state resistance to issuing an evacuation order and risking "crying wolf" and losing face should the hurricane have left the path of model prediction. Had contra-flow on highways been initiated sooner and more buses begun evacuating families (including the idle school buses that were not used at all) the numbers of stranded New Orleans occupants would have been significantly less making the initial wave of FEMA supplies adequate and even excessive."
Finger pointing rarely accomplishes anything other than revealing grown ups who shed responsibilities, yet in this wreck, all involved seemed slow encumbered, and overall emergency planning was caught with its pants down across the board(s).

then we had this classic tune, one of my favs....as a result- at least one thing good came out of Katrina/Rita, a classic tune, lmao........
Macon, Georgia right??? Enjoy.... I hate Rain.![]()
Oh yeah I remember now when driving home from Florida....about 40 miles South of Macon.
