So, the rules as I remember them

You can only protect 8

If you only have 8 to protect you have to make one of those available

You can only protect guys under contract or RFA

So in my tiny brain the Blazer players eligable are

Aldridge
Batum
Matthews
Lillard
Leonard
Freeland
Jeffries
Claver
Barton

That might be off a bit, but it's close enough. Who would you leave unprotected and why?

I protect: Aldridge, Lillard, Matthews, Batum, Hickson, Babbitt, Barton and Leonard.

The other players aren't going to be the cream of the crop for expansion teams, so I doubt they even pick any of them up.

The NBA needs a contraction, not an expansion.

Easily Jeffries.

Agreed. But since this is hypothetical Id choose LA/batum/lillard/Mathews/leonard/barton/freeland/claver
Why those 8 because the others will be FA and we can sign then back if we want. Losing hickson takes his cap hit off and would still allow us to resign him if we cared to.
Looks like hickson isnt on the list to keep anyway so id leave jeffries open to claim.
