I really appreciate that this guy clearly has a solid understanding of the entirety of scripture and the overarching message of Jesus. I might also have added in commentary about Jesus denouncing the Pharisees for weighing down the people with burdensome commands, reference to Micah stating what the Lord actually requires of His people, and perhaps even reference Isaiah showing how those who don't actually hear/understand the teachings of God see them as "rule upon rule, precept upon precept."

I have no problem with schools teaching about the 10 commandments as being one of the foundational elements to our modern legal system, alongside the code of Hammurabi, the Law of the Twelve Tables, and the Magna Carta (among others). But I certainly have issue with--as this guy put it--making it an idol, which many purported Christians appear to be trying to do.

That guy said all the right things. Too bad it won't make a bit of a difference.

Putting up a poster of the ten commandments in a school is indoctrination.
