They always had this Avia reading competition...read to achieve or something like that.

Well, my class won the dang thing. I cheated horribly and forged my mother's name on the slips we had to turn in. I know that most of my class cheated too.

Clyde came to our school and I think Steve Colter and maybe Kiki. It was a long time ago, about 1985 so my memory is fuzzy about it but I did cheat.

Oh yeah, cheaters sometime do prosper. I "read" so many pages they gave me extra tickets. I got six instead of two.

There was an article in The Reflector (crappy little SW washington paper) about it...wonder if I can find it online?!?

When did you finally admit this to your mother?

Oh yeah, when you can write that you read 600 pages of the same National Geographic magazine and they don't catch you....well I don't have much respect for the purity of the contest. I wasn't the only one, just the worst cheater. :devilwink:

Don't feel so bad about cheating, maybe you'll play for the Lakers one day.

Like a teacher didn't know you were lying. All they had to do was ask one or two questions about Brazil and you would be found out as a fraud.

I am pretty sure my teacher knew, but she wanted to win too I bet.

We had similar stuff in 4th or 5th grade. You read something and they give you Six Flags tickets.
