i agree hes a bum, im done trying to defend him

the surgery has ruined the player he was, now he cant even hit that jumpshot anymore

honestly unless theres a HUGE turnaround from him which we have been waitin for all year from him, he can kiss his contract goodbye for next season,

thorn will use the money to sign Diop instead

Every players body is different. Just because one person can come back after a season doesn't mean someone else can. Some people heal much faster, it's as simple as that.

If you say everybody's different, why are you comparing him to Grant Hill? and someone else comparing him to Mashburn? Mashburn never recovered. Some players can be affected permanently by injury also, so we never know. The fact is that he's not playing up to expectations right now and we are in a playoff hunt. No disrespect to Krstic because he's one of my favorite players on the Nets, but I am expecting more from him. There was one stretch where he took 3 jumpers in one play and he coulda built a house with all the bricks. He's just been disappointing thus far to me and I want to see more flashes of the old Krstic(facing up, jab step then jumper / posting up), but the thing is we never know if we will. Players recover differently because injuries are mental and physical.

You also say we are the second biggest disappointment, but I'm sure the Heat have been a bigger disappointment than us or Chicago, NYK was expected to have higher expectations because of the Randolph trade(but yeah they're the Knicks). Milwaukee was also getting some hype because they actually have a good lineup on paper, but they're record is atrocious like ours. Other teams have played surprisingly well as of late like Atlanta and Philly, which all reflect the current standings. Every season has its disappointments and unfortunately we are one of them and part of that disappointment has been in Krstic. We need him to be his old self regardless of injury or not and we need him soon.

i really hope this injury doesnt ruin his career, he seems so out of it. that jump shot was automatic before, now he is so off, his rebounding and defense have declined. i just dont know what to think, do you continue to play him when he's getting worse every game or do you just shut him down for next season?

It's disappointing, but it's really starting to seem like reality to me. I feel bad for the kid, he could've been really good.

It's an excellent point...honestly I have no answer to how it can be ignored.

The potential upside for Krstic is that his game is far less reliant on athleticism than either Swift or LaFrentz' games were. Just watching his shooting mechanisms, it looks as if he's trying to overbalance on his left leg, and shooting too much from his upper body - even for a 7 footer. If/when he gets comfortable really setting both feet, he could have an Ilgauskas-esque recovery from dangerous leg injuries.

Even so, this injury will probably hinder other areas of his game. Like we've seen, on defense, he's much, much slower...which is terribly bad. And with rebounding, we're unlikely to see him grab a high amount on a consistent basis. And even with going near the basket...it's obvious he won't have the same desire to attack the basket, or maybe even to put in the extra effort to go for a rebound.

What I'm saying is, no matter which way you look at it, the future looks bleak for Krstic. There seems to be a higher possibility of him turning into another Malik Allen, than the player he used to be before he went down.

I'm not willing to count him out quite yet, though his slowness is certainly alarming. They say full recovery may take up to two years, and that may well be longer for someone of his size.

He was hitting his shots in the preseason and the first few games of the season so I don't think the injury is responsible for him missing shots. The fact he could contribute back then, after the injury, makes me think he can get back.

Like Krstic stated in his blog, he hasn't been able to do much in terms of working extra due to the knee.

The speed will come back next year but his defense was never there to begin with.

True. I didn't notice. But I still stand by my point in saying that when healthy Nenad Kristic is a top center in the Eastern Conference and is a positive for any team that hes on.
