I like my defensew ith playmakers at every level (Osi/Vilma/Dunta). We have a lot of speed, especially at LB. My offense could score a lot of points this year. It all depends on the oline.UPDATE: Traded CB Stanley Wilson, HB Chad Morton and a 5th round pick for Devin Hester.Added HB Avion Cason with a 2 year deal. The New York Giants are happy to add CB Devin Hester to our CB and KR crew. Even though we have Bush to return kicks, we'd prefer not to expose him to injury. We will be starting Hester at both return spots.Giants Update:The New York Giants announced today that they have named their team captains. Congratulations to QB Michael Vick, WR Larry Fitzgerald and MLB Jonathan Vilma. Many players told various coaches they were happy with the appointments. A good move by the Giants organization.Training Camp update: Giants put Michael Vick through the Pocket Awareness drill. He gained three points, which were added to his awareness rating, bringing it to 80 overall.Preseason Update: (SIMMED)Well, it was a disappointing preseason for the Giants. They went 1-3, with the defense not performing well. We gave up as many as 31 points in the games!! Not happy. Adding to the disappointment, rookie RB Reggie Bush is out for 2 weeks with a hip pointer. He has been quoted as saying that it is frustrating that he starts his career with an injury. Other injuries: veteran reserve Tackle Jason Mathews is out for 1 week with a sprained elbow. WR Devery Henderson is out 9 weeks with a dislocated knee.Player Progression

Indy coltsL 31-24In a heartbreaker, the New York Giants lost to the Colts today. After taking an early lead 7-0 on a Vernon Davis TD reception, the Giants gave up 31 points entering the 4th quarter down 31-10. The Giants had a successful drive capped off by a Brandon Jacobs TD catch. On the ensuing drive, the Colts managed to take 4 minutes off the clock but did not score. On the first play of the Giants ensuing drive, Michael Vick hooked up with Troy Williamson for a 80 yard TD to make it a one score game with 2 and 1/2 minutes left. The Giants kicked off and the Colts started their drive with the intention of burying the Giants, but Jonathan Vilma would not let it happen. Forcing a 3-and-out with 2 tackles on RB Stephan Jackson, the Giants got the ball back with 1:45 to play, 1 timeout and down by 1 score. The drive was going well, highlighted by 2 Michael Vick first down runs on 3rd down. Then a bad case of the dropsies. After a 1st down sack on the Colt 25, Vick had Williamson timed perfectly for a first down curl, but unbelievably, Troy dropped it. On the next play, Vick tried to hit #1 WR Larry Fitzgerald but he too dropped a sure first down pass. A desperation heave on 4th down fell incomplete, and the Colts ran out the clock. Vick said afterward that he loved how the offense came together for the final 3 drives, but he was admittedly "frustrated with the WR play." Coach Tom Coughlin agreed, adding "we need Fitz (WR Larry Fitzgerald) and Troy (Williamson) to step up more than that."NOTE: FS Chris Crocker is out for 6 weeks, rookie Danieal Manning will start in his place. Vernon Davis was knocked out of the game in the 3rd quarter, did not return but is fine for week 2.Week 2:NY Giants V. Philly Eagles16-14A very close game, the Eagles started off the scoring with a Julius Jones 1 yard TD run in the beginning of the 2nd quarter. The Giants quickly answered with a Mike Nugent field Goal and a Larry Fitzgerald TD Catch. They went in to the break with a 10-7 lead. Mike Nugent added to the lead with another field goal. Then, in the early 4th quarter, Vick threw an interception to Antonio Pierce which he returned for a TD. But the Giants were able to win the game with another Nugent FG with 22 seconds left.Passing:Michael Vick 21/33 190 yards, 1 TD 3 INTRushing:Brandon Jacobs 31 rushes 99 yardsMichael Vick 9 rushes 91 yardsRecieving:Larry Fitzgerald 7 REC 102 yards 1 TDVernon Davis 4 REC 27 yardsDefense:Jonathan Vilma 6 tackles 1 sackRocky Calmus 6 tackles 1 INTOsi Umienorya 3 tackles 1 sack 1 FFErasmus James 1 tackle 2 sacksDunta Robinson 1 tackle 1 INTJustin Miller 1 INTINJURY NOTE: Michael Vick is out 1 week with a pinched nerve.
