We have 16 player. Caunighton and Montero switch between the NBDL and the IR with Kaman. Which leaves us with this 13-player rotation:

DLill, Frazier, Pressey
CJ, Crabbe
Aminu, Henderson, Harkless
Davis, Meyers, Alexander
Vonleh, Plumlee

I think this can work, I think it's a better team than many would anticipate and we still have the 30mil to use when the right opportunity comes along.

2 out of 3 of Frazier, Pressey and Alexander will be on our D League team. Book it.

We are severely lacking scoring. Our backup guards aren't the type to randomly catch fire.

Then need scoring off the bench you bring Pressey, you also have CJ in the starting lineup with Dame, you're not severly lacking in scoring. If you play Frazier with either Dame or CJ you have great scoring and playmaking.

All of the bigs can put up points and rebounds in different ways, they give you different looks, different options. Some are better defenders than others, Meyers gives you a very good option as stretch 4.

Our weakest position is maybe SF but even there you have 3 good role-players to choose from. Harkless could be like Barton at the 3, Aminu I haven't really seen much but he's supposedly good and Gerald Henderson gives you toughness and experience.

Thats my biggest concern if we want to put the most competitive team on the floor. I'm not sure thats Neil's immediate plan though. But if it is we need another guard or wing who can create his own shot for himself or others.

I think Neil might be content with having that void of a scoring role so there is plenty of opportunities for a young player to grow that aspect of their game. We could always add an Evan Turner type of player for next to nothing during the season if it becomes a major issue.

I really doubt CJ will start, Henderson will and Vanleh isn't playing center.

The final piece could be to trade Henderson for Hedo Turkugolu.

Lillard, Pressey, Frazier
CJ, Crabbe
Hedo, Aminu, Harkless
Vonleh, Meyers, Alexander
Davis, Plumlee

Lillard is the only lock as a starter. All other positions could have 1 of any 3 or 4 players starting. I wouldn't be surprised if we have 4 different starters from November to February; then a entirely different group from those first two around Lillard at the end in April. Completely different from the last 4 years where our starters have been set before training camp.

PG Lillard
SG CJ, Hendo, Pat, (Crabbe)
SF Aminu, Crabbe, (Hendo), (Pat)
PF Meyers, Vonleh, (Aminu)
C Plumlee, Davis, (Meyers)

Frazier, Pressey, Harkless and Kaman would be the only shocking players to start; although all have started NBA games. Some might consider Pat a shock to start; but he's a 4 years college guy, Hendo is recovering from surgery, CJ might be more important on the second unit, who knows.

We have no idea where the holes are on this roster. We are still in talent acquisition mode of rebuilding.

I like the idea of flipping cap space for picks.

Minutes:

DLIll 36, Frazier 15, Pressey 6
CJ 31, Crabbe 8
Hendo 15, Aminu 18, Harkless 15
Vonleh 25, Meyers 20, Alexander 10
Davis 20, Plumlee 21

A very deep rotation

There has never been an NBA team with a 13 man rotation.

Some of those last couple guys might get minutes with injuries or different looks game to game but in a single game the above isn't possible.

PG: Dame, Frazier, Pressey
SG: Hendo, CJ, Crabbe
SF: Aminu, Crabbe, Harkless
PF: Leonard, Vonleh, Davis
C: Pumlee, Davis, Kaman

Left Field/towel waver: Pat

D or E league stash: Montero, Alexander,

This is where it becomes awkward that we gave up our D-League team...
I am sure we can buy, I mean rent, I mean form an agreement with a new one. Shit, NYC FC is basically a feeder team for Man City and that's an MLS team. I realize it's another sport, but you get my drift.

CJ will be a starter. Book it
With 4 new starters in the lineup, I believe Henderson will be the starting SG. Hendo provides veteran stability.

If PA & NO give Stotts a free year to experiment with lineups without putting pressure on him to win a certain number of games. Then sometime after the first month or so, I could see CJ starting some games.

If CJ wants the starting job permanently, he will have to earn it. I hope he does, because that would mean he is better than a proven NBA starter. Giving CJ the starting job does not prove anything, unless he earns it.

Yeah I don't think Frazier is better than Pressey
Wasn't Pressey in the DLeague last year and NOT the MVP? That being said Pressey's highlights do look good, though they are on one side of the ball of course.

Pressey has played 1 game in the D-League (and had big numbers). The rest of the time he has rode the pine on the Celtic's bench. And I not sure about his D but I know Frazier's isn't that great due to his size so probably similar with Pressey.

If you watched the Neil olshey pree conference like I did, I think it's pretty obvious that CJ will be starting. Olshey called CJ an emerging star, didn't say that about anyone else. When LA was here we were modeling ourselves to be like the spurs, now with LA leaving we are going more for a thunder model, two guys that can penetrate and create there own shot and surround them with defensive minded role players that may just pop into being actually decent on offense.

I don't see enough consistent scoring or consistency in general from that roster. It's just too young.

That's fine with me, though. There are several young players to be excited about, and they'll have their moments. But I don't think it will show up much in the win column, which is fine because a lottery pick should yield another very nice piece to the puzzle for when things turn around.

they won't be playing the style that we did last year, not feed LA the ball and have 3 guys stand on the perimiter and wait for an open 3. They will have Dame and CJ try to break down there guy off the dribble or P&R with Davis/Plumlee, then you have two guys that would rather go to the basket and score and two guys that will toss up a 3 if you go over the screen, with Aminu as a slasher. Don't get me wrong, we aren't winning 50 games next year with that, thats just what I think will happen.
