I've had enough of this guy pretending to be a general manager. If he's not out shopping with a blank check what good is this hump? There's nothing in the minors but mediocre talent. He knows what's looming beyond this season is complete and utter shit. Imagine this if you will going into 2015. Jeter gone, Soriano gone, a hole at third base, a hole at second base and Tex likely coming off hitting .225-.230. Then throw in the fact that Kuroda likely retires and Sabathia is another huge hole signed for a few more years. What are they banking on? Sanchez and a bullshit outfield prospect who will not amount to shit? I've had it with this asshole.

You make some excellent points. I mean if people thought filling out a line up this year was tough, wait until next year when you have a team basically made out of swiss cheese.

A ton of more money spent which looks and sounds good but is all smoke and mirrors.

...lol...season over.

No I'm not going to worry about this season until we're AT LEAST 40-50 games in. But you have to admit that filling holes next season is going to be very interesting to say the least.

...I will keep laughing...would you have made this post if the Yanx had won the first 2 games?

...and what exactly changes after this season?

...what holes?...and why can't they be filled?...we don't have to have an all-star at every position.

April sees .250 hitters hitting 400, duds are studs, studs are duds, pitchers can't find the plate, anxiety levels are high, what we've just witnessed was the Astros winning their version of the 2014 World Series.

That was basically my point about not worrying about the 1st 40-50 games.

Papelbon, Nathan, the Cubs, Phillies and Angels were abused last night in manners akin to James Caan in Misery.

Cujo, Misery, and Christine were well filmed and one could follow them without first reading the book. I read The Shining prior to seeing the film and that explained a lot of detail that the move missed. I don't think King wanted Nicholson in the movie but he played that part well. On the other hand I thought "Pet Cemetary" sucked.

Another one you should see if you haven't is NEEDFUL THINGS. Very well done.

It's not about having stars at every position. The 1996 team didn't win that way. It was about have a GM in place that did their job and put the right people in the right spots. Now this team is just writing big checks time and time again. What happens after this season. Chase more free agents with their check book while developing absolutely nothing?

Read "Needful Things" enjoyed it didn't know that they'd filmed it, great story of how people can jump to conclusions without logical thought patterns. Another King favorite of mine was Carrie, movie was well done, King was good early on with the payback is a bitch scenario.

King's stuff is just tremendous. Just pulls you in and in some cases scares the hell out of you. You really have to sit down with the books because the movies alone just don't elicit the same reaction.

Back in 1968 I was stationed at Fort Devens Mass, had a buddy that was from Maine. Years later I found out his home town was the same as Kings. Always wonder if he may have known him, dude was crazier than hell. Too bad Steven King is a Red Sox fan. Maybe we could get him to write a novel about Cashman getting lynched in front of Yankee Stadium because the fans tired of his BS.

I think you should start working on a fast draft & mail it out to him.

I got pretty familiar with the NE region, my dad was born & raised in Vermont so I had relatives there and Massachusetts as well. Made some visits as a kid, went to AIT at Devens for 6 months prior to crossing the pond. I was then returned to Devens ending up staying about three years. Really could give one the creeps walking around Boston late hours and foggy nights passing the old graveyards. Used to listen to commercial sailors recounting the old whaling ships going here and there with sailors returning to give the local women the gift that went on giving. Yep King had plenty to draw on just from the region alone.

The sky is falling already? Come on people, FA is own minor league program.

^^^ nonsense...roster spots cannot be filled by FAs...they MUST come from the farm!...ARMAGEDDON !...ARMAGEDDON !
