The Thunder would be in the playoffs. The Spurs would not.

Who was it, again, that claimed the Spurs were a better team this year......in fact right behind the Lakers in the West?

I do realize that Jefferson was an upgrade. But, my oh my, the Spurs are getting looonger in the collective tooth.

they have had a ton of injuries already.

Let me point out that I said the Spurs were overrated this year more than a few times. Duncan is old and tired. The Spurs begin and end with him, regardless of Jefferson's addition.

I know. My point exactly.

Bring us a win tomorrow, HCP! I wanna see a classic Freeze Frame!

I wanna see a classic My Angel is the Centerfold.

The Spurs always start slow. Always. They never hit their stride 'til right around the ASB. They're going to perfectly fine and end up right in the thick of things come the end of the season.

I'm not too worried about the Spurs, they started off incredibly slow last year too and ended up with the 3rd seed.

I'm worried about the Spurs. Parker, Ginobili, Jeff, Duncan are a pretty formidable lineup when you need a win.

The Spurs are only 3.5 games (and only two losses) behind the #1 seed with 74 games to play. I doubt they're concerned.

Ya think?!

SAN ANTONIO (AP)—Manu Ginobili(notes) (MAN’-oo jih-NOH’-blee) is out and Tony Parker(notes) is listed as doubtful as the injuries woes continue for the San Antonio Spurs.

Ginobili won’t play Thursday night against Utah after straining his left groin in Wednesday’s overtime loss at Dallas.

Parker re-aggravated his sprained left ankle in a loss Saturday against Oklahoma City and didn’t play against the Mavericks. It was the third game Parker has missed this season.

Tim Duncan(notes) missed two games last week with an ankle injury of his own.

I said they were overrated from the get-go. That team revolves around an aging and increasingly hobbled Tim Duncan. Everybody else is a role player.

Wow, 2 replies to the same post. Somebody find me another hobby.

You only consider Tony Parker to be a role-player? I think he's one of the best point guards in the league, up there with Deron Williams.

I don't. At least in terms of being able to carry a team. :dunno:

If the playoffs started tomorrow, Portland players would be on vacation by December.

OK City has gotten good. I don't think they're a playoff team this year for the same reasons the Blazers weren't one two years ago, but they have gotten pretty good.

And if the beginning of the season the last few years has been any indication - pay no attention to how bad the Spurs look, or how good the Suns look.

Spurs will be a top 3 team in the west when playoffs goes around. Maybe not by record, but their level of play

OKC may in fact end up with a better record than the Spurs.......

i still thunk okc has a rough stretch at some point. they are good young team but they are playing out of their minds at the moment.

Kevin Durrant is even better than I thought. The guy is scary - he's had 13 games of 30/10! He shoots 49% from the floor and 88% from the stripe. It's getting harder and harder to stick to the "Kevin Durrant will win scoring titles, but Greg Oden will win championships" line.

He's becoming a complete player and leader for that team.
