he would have been just as injured as Oden has been. (And Oden in OKC would never had any major injuries and would be a 20/15 player.)

It's not the player, it's the place.

That's entirely plausible (if you believe it has been just bad luck and freak injuries for Oden). Look at Batum, who has a very similar frame to KD, he just missed most of last season. Or think of McGrady. He was the next 'IT' player, only to be an afterthought at 30 after several injury-riddled seasons.

Bottom, line, there was not much separating Oden and Durant at draft time as far as potential/talent goes.

When trying to be optimistic, I tend to think of Ilgauskas and Camby as examples for Oden. They struggled for injuries early in their career and the last 5 or 6 years they've been playing close to full seasons.

LMAO! If you guys had drafted Jordan you wouldn't even be having this conversation.

I avoid talking basketball with a lot of my buddies, most from out of state and not blazer fans, as they rip me to shreds with this Durant stuff.

Greg Oden is such an embarrassment, even more so than the jailblazer days, when it comes to talking basketball with the casual/diehard fan.

You live and you learn. The next time we have the #1 pick I don't think we'll take another player with real injury issues again.

If we had drafted Jordan, Bowie would have 6 championship rings and MJ would be an injured broke gambler selling used cell phones out of the back of his car.

Wow what a fresh new thread topic. I've never heard this arguement before thank you for the enlightenment.

Didn't this guy get banned yet!

I'm not embarrassed one bit.

then might I suggest a new club to support? I was here before Oden, I will be here after. I was here after Bowie, if I were old enough I would have been there before. One pick does not define me as a fan.

I stay inside a lot more now.
