Igor starting tonight

Good to hear. We will never know for sure, but the whole thing seems fishy to me. With that said I'm happy he's starting tonight. Gets him at least 1 game of playoff like hockey.

Hopefully they can score more than a goal or two and show some urgency.

Kind of goes without saying, but scoring first is huge for us tonight. Get the opportunity to play with a lead.

Maybe they can avoid a penalty or goal within the first 2 minutes.

Getting Lemieux back may give them a bit of a lift. He's a physical, high intensity player. Hopefully he adds some much needed energy and intensity to their play. Be a pest and play on the borderline.

I might've put Kravtsov in and bumped Lemieux down for Fogarty to try and add some skill but whatever.

I love having Lemieux back and Im very high on him. Just worried about his history as a penalty machine in a series where the refs have put guys in the box for looking at them wrong.

They've been trying too hard to be physical and it's gotten them away from the things they do well.

OK that hit by Smith on Svechnikov was all fucking world! Now score!

Love the period. Hate that we didnt score. You know CAR came out saying just weather the storm to start and play our game. We need to sustain this.

Big guys are skating tonight, first time all series.

Yeah, I don't trust Smith at all, but that hit was sweet.

Really strong period. I feel it now even more than I did before the game, we need the first goal. If the Canes score first they'll win this game. If we score first I think we give ourselves a good shot to win.

I really hope we do win this game. It will be nice for the kids, and Shes, to get a taste of a playoff type win, and get another game of experience.

Getting through the first few minutes of the 2nd is big as the Rangers tend to come out lax and give up goals for some reason.

Big goal by Kreider. He needed to be a factor tonight. Glad he got us on the board!

Whatever. Have to say I'm just not all that impressed with Trouba. He needs to be alot better next year.

Can’t believe we didn’t score at the end of the period. Amazing chances with no resilts

Igor makes a ridiculous difference. Too bad for whatever reason he didn’t play the first 2 games.

What a miraculous save. I haven't sworn that much in such a short period of time in a while.

It is kind of funny how it doesn't matter who the player is or what year it is, the Rangers just cannot finish in the playoffs. Sure, very good saves by Reimer, but come on now you have to finish these chances. Those are the types of things that cost you playoff games when the Canes bury their next chance.

As for Chytil, he is pretty simple to me. First he needs to get much stronger on the puck. That is the clear big must for him to take the next step. Second he needs to get a little smarter. From some of the things I have seen I am not sure his hockey IQ is very high right now. But he has very good upside if he can improve in those two areas. And as young as he is, I expect he will improve.

He absolutely does. First I think the team has more confidence with him in goal. They can see what we can see, Hank is not even close to the same. That doesn't inspire confidence. Second, and without a doubt most importantly, his puck handling skills are a huge help to this team. He has setup a few chances tonight, and he helps the dmen out big time.

You know this is going to end on some stupid thing like a flubbed clear or broken stick.

Carolina defenseman are unbelievable pussies. They get the puck in their zone and just clear it up the boards right away without even looking almost every time. It's a shame our forwards are too stupid to take advantage of it. That won't work vs. a veteran team.

I've said it many times. DeAngelo needs to be moved to wing. He fucking sucks defensively.

And ladies and gentleman that’s the series. Via the clown defensive tandem of trouba and dangelo

Different goalie. Same result. There was nothing different about this game than the other two. Nothing. The Rangers had no puck possession in the offensive zone and couldn't break out of their own end at all. They had no answer for the forecheck. Sloppy passing. Couldn't score on the few chances they had.

That 3rd period was kind of predictable as mentioned. When you have all the chances we had in the 2nd and don't cash in, that almost always comes back to bite you in the butt. Overall though, Carolina was simply the clearly better team. What can you do.

Now we need to hope our 12.5% lottery ticket pays off. If it doesn't we'll get a solid pick worst case. Hope Toronto and Carolina lose going forward to maximize our second 1st round pick.

Then we need to deal the second 1st rounder and a kid or two and add a legit # 2 C. Deal Strome for some return. Give Miller a shot to make the team paired with Trouba. Move on from Hank and Smith. And we need some more forward depth. We were woefully short upfront all season. I for one am excited for next season. We should be a legit solid playoff team. And in two years I expect a SC type team. Good times are ahead I think. In JD/Gorton I trust.

I disagree with this. In the first two periods they played about 500 times better than any of the 6 periods in games 1 & 2. They, as usual in the playoffs, could not finish. It was bound to bite them in the 3rd, and it did. The 3rd they were done, and it showed as it was all Carolina. Hopefully we learn some good lessons for the future.
