That are complaining about the signing of 2 of the top 5 free agents in this years class. By the time this off season is completed, it is not out of the realm of reasoning that we also have added Beltran and retained Cano. In addition, I feel that this allows for more flexibility with a player like Ellsbury. What if they decided that Ellsbury long term, is better than Beltran for 3 years at 48 million.
Another thought that I have is what if this is the blueprint for the next 3 years.
1) Go nuts in Free Agent Signings this year
2) This allows for an influx of quality players and creates a competitive team for 2014
3) Turns the focus here after on player development
