I see that some of you guys are from Oregonlive.com also. It seems that the mods are going overboard there. It's annoying. I posted a link to this story - and I get banned for it. It makes zero sense.
I posted the story as an example of how infections are nothing to joke about after JETragemoron was laughing at Maurice Lucas for his recent surgery.
All I posted was -
"Speaking of infections
Link
This is really sad."
Maxie...
It started the night of winning the draft lottery. Before that were mostly ok posters (with the occasional kid/troll). The night of the lottery, all the new members flooded in. Since then, it's been like a snowball rolling downhill. And somehow I've had to use "bannedBrian" a couple of times. (One was for suggesting that K*be may opt out to look at the Blazers, and was there a basketball reason we shouldn't do it).
Please continue to cry about how you're moderated on another sports site so that you can gain support on this sports site.
To which one of us are you speaking? I think you're a Nets fan. If you are, Oregonlive.com and NJ.com are run by the same group of folks.
I don't understand how people can put up with the awful forum format there. I can't stand it (and I know that format is used more than just at O-live, so I'm not specifically railing just against it). Every once in a while I try and read through it because I'm extra bored at work. Then I remember why I don't usually.
The ADD lurking within me actually prefers that format. It's more conversational.
When I used the O-Live forum in 2000 or so, I also really liked the format. Like a hybrid of discussion forums and real-time chat. Immediacy of response was like talking to people in real time, but there was some persistence of threads.
That's the downside of the format. Once a thread goes to the second page, it's tough to carry on a conversation.
Sometimes it's good to let a conversation die....
and repped!
What's repped?
Mouse over the icons on the left under a person's avatar and other info. One of those you can click on that lets you give "reputation" points to a post/poster. The rep message you type in shows up for them on their User CP page.
BTW, avatars are free here, so feel free to upload one for yourself. See your User CP for various options like that.

Sure!
If you need help with an avatar or signature image (can have images there, too), ask in our GFX forums and one of our more talented graphic artist types will surely help out.
My sig graphic was done by Speeds![]()
I'm blown away that sites have mods with god complexes.
A good read:
