Yes, but parents didn't consent to that drop in teen pregnancy and abortion. I hope the courts step in and protect parents' rights.

Tennessee is about to pass a bill that would allow men to veto any woman's abortion by claiming paternity. Supreme Court ruled years ago men can't veto but addition of three coat hanger devotees could reverse that.

I agree with most but not the part about parental consent being required. That's a tricky question considering that some parents should never be parents.

Having been a Planned Parenthood volunteer, I can tell you many teens do involve parents. Often come in with their mother. But it should never be mandatory. In cases where parents are abusive or very conservative, or where communication is poor, or young woman is simply a very private person, either young women don't need consent or they use unreliable birth control and do it yourself abortion.
