Such a good post. Honest.I don't like Stotts and I've made it clear I believe he should've been fired after the Pelican series.
But most of the messages on this board about Stotts are the exact same thing other fans say about their teams coach.
There is nothing to change my mind about as that is a fact. All you have to do is go read @Jade Falcon 's otherside thread to see the exact same things in s2 game threads happen in other teams game threads.
The point with grass is always greener is.
Any coach no matter who it is, will have people complaining about rotations, adjustments, offense and pretty much anything else they can think of.
For awhile there I was actually posting these things in 'the otherside thread'. But then I realized it doesn't matter if I post that because people like @BrianFromWA will quote me spew some random shit, but aren't able to see the similarities between the comments I quoted and posted. And the comments in the s2 game threads.
Instead they'll come up with 'oh I don't think Stevens would have the same issues in Portland as he does in Boston.'
Similar to when people said. 'Oh I don't think Boogie will have the same issues in Portland as he does in Sac because Lillard'.
Well Boogie isn't NOT getting techs in GSW. He's just grown up a bit, has nothing to do with x player is keeping him in line.
This stuff is just nonsense I mean Torey, you remember how this forum is when Portland is playing .500 basketball. Celtics are 4-6 in their last 10. If Portland was that way holy shit this forum would be spammed. With how garbage Stotts is, how garbage Lillard is, how Lillard & CJ can't win together, how Portland should've tanked for zion. Blah blah blah.
Reminds me of when after Portland fired Sarge. Many Portland fans believed they promoted the next Spoelstra in Canales.
All because espn announcers talked about how Spoelstra worked his way up. They believed Canales was just a few years behind Spoelstra. That in 2-3 years he'd be just as good if not better than Spoelstra.
(no this is not my opinion of spoelstra, I'm just using it as an example.)
Why do we have to compare fanbases? I dont understand that. As if our complaints arent justified because other fanbases complain. Makes 0 sense.I don't like Stotts and I've made it clear I believe he should've been fired after the Pelican series.

Im paying attention to what the Blazers are doing. If we were playing .500 ball then wed likely have our coaching be worse or we wouldnt be overcoming some of the mistakes. Theres still glaring mistakes in games where we play great, but instead of focusing on those mistakes, I focus on the outcome. If we play great, I let it go. If we play bad, then it's frustrating that we still cant improve problem areas that have existed for years in order to have a better chance at winning.
Also, most people stand by their stances no matter what, they're just more or less vocal depending upon the situation. After a successful road trip where Dame shot 46% from 3, theres posters still trashing his shot.
You should stop looking as opinions being determined by outcomes because they're not. The outcome simply influences whether or not those opinions are voiced.
Again, if we got down to a strictly basketball oriented conversation and ignored all the unrelated outside stuff, I think you would agree with the schematic and philosophical deficiencies of our coaching staff.
I dont think you understand the point I was trying to make....
It's not comparing fanbases it's saying that Portland fans aren't the only knowledgeable fan bases out there.
They're not the only fanbase with a poster like Bonesjones, or BNM.
These fan bases have issues with their coaching staff just like you or I do with Portland's staff.
These fan bases also seem to rate Stotts better than their coach.
While Portland's fan base rates those coaches ahead of Stotts.
^
Grass is always greener.
Why? Because when they play bad and lose it's frustrating for them to see the same schematic and philosophical issues crop up.
Just like it's frustrating to you, I and Portland fans when the same schematic and philosophical issues crop up for Portland.
I'm not going to get into telling another grown ass man what they should stop doing and shouldn't stop doing. Simply because it's childish and I've had a very frustrating day what I'd say wouldn't be very nice. Therefore I'll go back to watching the game.
Game threads are similar in HOT TAKES. It's not hard to understand my point.
Im of the feeling that if Portland was Minnesota, Even Denver, Sacramento, Phoenix and other teams that have struggled for the last 6-8 years to make playoffs, this site wouldn't be nearly as active and more comparable to the cities mentioned above forum activity....

Are you daft?If they fire Stotts, I don't think he's a bad choice
Mostly, we've seen how teams that finish high in the regular season do well in the playoffs. You've gotta be off your rocker to think otherwise. If the Blazer do this year what they have done in the last two years under Terry, I would consider it. Hot streaks in the regular season mean very little in terms of post season success with this team. We've seen it before.
I hope this year is different but until there is evidence to the contrary that something has really changed, he could be CoY and I'd consider letting him go a'ka what Toronto did unless there is better Playoff success.
What's your issue with Luke Walton? Are you daft?
And his fatrher could come back tto town and be an honorary big man coach?I would love Luke Walton as Lead Assistant Coach (under someone beside's Stotts).
