I'm doing this now - Since I dont have paid cable I take my coaxle cable from my modem and plug it in my tv which works and gives me cable tv - thats how I'm watching the All Star games and whatver cable I want to watch.anyways - say I want to get on the internet on my laptop at the same time I'm watching tv and I cant find a good signal to leach from in my area. You take an ethernet cable - the longer the better - and wrap it tightly around your cell phone - plug the other end in your laptop (or PC). What happens with that is it uses your cell phone signal and it boosts your wireless range by like 100x. Im getting broadband internet from my cell phone now. lol this is ghetto - but its what you gotta do when you dont have both cable tv and broadband.

hehe dats sweet. I wana try dat. wats the coaxle cable tho? is that the cord u use 2 get internet (like landlines) or is dat sumthn else?

It has the end that kinda screws in.

ahh crap I dont got that for my modem, o well ill just try the broadband thing lol

You can take a cable from your modem to your TV and it gives you cable TV? Is that just a feature by your ISP or what?

I don't know if my router has that screwy thing for it... I'll check.EDIT - my modem does, I'm going to try this out soon.

thats a coaxial - it should be plugged in your modem (which looks like this):

Just remove the cable and plug it in your tv - it has nothing to do with your router.

I'm guessing this does not work for dialup users.

See Reppin, this is what you have to resort to when you spend all your money on Mary Jane...

I meant modem... they are in the same spot maybe that's why I said router.
