I was looking at the "scoring titles" list and realized something.

Since 1985, no player but Michael Jordan has won a scoring title and nba title in the same year. Could Durant be the only other player this post season? So far, he is tied 2-2 in the second round and won the scoring title this year. Personally, i doubt he even makes it to the finals. Although, they have enough firepower to get there.

History has shown the game to be a team championship, not an individual one. Defenses are too good and you can neutralize one, and sometimes two, players from scoring. I doubt he can do it. They've got holes.

I’m not surprised at all. You need multiple dominant scorers to win a title but you are more likely to be the scoring champ if you’re the only dominant scorer on your team.

What's interesting is Westbrook is a scoring machine too. Actually winning the scoring title, while you have an offensive ball hog PG like Westbrook is pretty impressive. But I agree with most. I don't think Oklahoma has all the pieces yet to win it all.

Perkins has really underachieved since getting traded and Westbrook is being a horrible ball hog in clutch situations. If Westbrook can suddenly become CP3 and Perkins steps it up BIG TIME they have a legit shot. If niether of those happens I doubt they give Dallas much of a series if they even make it past memphis

Actually I looked deeper and the last one to win a scoring title and championship the same year was Kareem in Milwaukee. 1970-71. Man that really makes Jordan something special!
