Definitely get the dual monitors then. That way while you work on general stuff the other monitor can have some porn.
True story, I quit viewing porn about 7 or 8 years ago and as a side benefit my eyesight is returning. Oh wait, that's because I quit something else.

Couple of people suggesting an i5 in here. In 2017 I built a new PC around an i5-7600K (did not wind up overclocking). There are times where the CPU does get bottlenecked. In hindsight I would have spent the extra $100-150 to go with an i7, but these instances are infrequent enough that I never upgraded.

AMD are doing quite well right now with their latest processors, they are cheaper and generally as good or better than current gen Intel.
One of the guys I graduated from college with became one of AMD's top microprocessor designers.

I've been going AMD the last 15 years. Always have been pleased.

Lanny, Fuck this mutt.

If you need help, hit me up. Ill mask up and head over and help ya out.
Sly is right though. Dual monitors is the way to go. Most PC's come with dual monitor vid cards these days anyhow. I rock (2) 32" for my work from home set up, And out in my recording studio.

I don't need dual monitors. I use a 4k 50" TV when I want to use a big screen. :breakdance::bgrin:

Laptop w/big monitor is my vote. Essentially dual monitors with the added benefit of portability.

The new Apple M1 processors and notebooks are getting RAVE reviews.

Yeah, I brought that up a little earlier but Lanny said he "wasn't a Mac guy"...even though I set my wife's Imac up to run both OS X as well as Windows because she has a lot of accounting software that does not support OS X.

You also mentioned the new M1 Macs, I think either an IMac or maybe one of the new Mac Mini's with the M1s would work for Lanny if he gave them a try...I have a high end 2019 Macbook Pro and have been running Big Sur for a couple of months and so far so good...but am considering trading it in for a 2020 upgraded version...and you're right, once again, Apple appears to be ahead of the curve with the M1 processors.

That's my 3rd monitor.

man. I just picked up another 32”, so my monitors were exactly the same. I dont like different screen resolutions and one was slightly brighter than the other.
I hooked it up Nd its bad ass and then an add popped up. 49” curver monitor forcabotu the same i paid for my 32”. Id much rather have one mong one than two....

Uggghhh!!!!!

anyone want to but a nice new samsung 32”? One white curved aNd one black straight?

both new. Id sell them both for the price of the 49” curved. $399.00. I paid about 300 each for them.
Technology changes so quick. What i researched six months ago is old now!

My problem is I'm using the same old desk that Sly said I should throw in the garbage dump. It's got a limited space left, top, right and back for a large monitor. So, why do I use such a desk? Because it's small and fits in my cramped office which I share with my wife with a love seat and 42 inch LCD TV. I've also got my Telehealth setup in there for my daily sending of my vitals to my VA Telehealth nurse which she relays to my doctor.

you just need the right desk! I think Trump has a small one for sale. I think i saw him post an add using it the other day?

in my studio, I need long and wide but not tall. Hard to find 50” wide but less than 24” tall. I have a 4x8 window looking into the man room from my mixing room and i already have issues seeing into the room over the monitors i have.

By the way, have any of you out there ever been to Big Sur? Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous as was Carmel.

Never have been to the left coast although I'd like to someday...we lived in San Diego for a short time but I was too young to remember it.
