Yep, hopefully it happens. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
Yanks free-up some big money and open up more possibilities at 3B/DH....
...and *2b.
I would have to believe Prado would then become the 3b which opens up competition for 2b - Refsnyder/Pirela ? The more the merrier.
Honestly I'd like to see Headley play 3rd base, and Prado 2nd base.
I would be taking a long hard look at Vic Martinez for a DH.
If the Yankees are set on giving the rookie Refsnyder a shot at 2nd base I'd rather see them give Prado a shot at SS rather then settle on Drew.
I hope the Yanks can void ARoids contract and then waive a $25M/1YR contract at Jeter with an ownership group option.

Vic Martinez appears to be one of those guys who can get out of bed at midnight and hit a line drive or draw a walk.
I hear ya about Headley... and I think he could be a capable swing man for 3b/dh/1b...If one of those kids Refsnyder/Pirela can do the job at 2b, which will THEN open up 3b for Prado.
I think Prado just may be a better hitter than Headley at this point and we HAVE TO find out about those kids. Pirela looks like a hitter, he may be a bit undisciplined but he swings the bat and has shown he can hit -- albeit in a very short time. He still deserves a look.
Can't hold a short sample of work against the kid in any case.
If Refsnyder isn't on the opening day roster and seeing playing time for at least the first two months- it'll be because he is either injured,or fell on his face in ST or the first month of the season.
Don't mean to sound redundant but none of these idea's help with our lack of a SS. As I suggested earlier 3rd base will be A-Rod / Headley, 2nd base HOPEFULLY will be the kid Refsnyder & Prado could & should be given the shot at SS. And that is providing the Yankees don't go after guys like Cabrera or Lowrie for SS. JMO.
