The Iowa Energy announced today that they have acquired guard Austin Freeman.
Freeman averaged 17.6 points per game his senior year at Georgetown, and was named 1st Team All Big East that season. The 6-3 guard was playing in Israel for Maccabi Ashdod, averaging 11.7 points in six games, prior to joining the Energy. Freeman also spent time in Italy after graduating in 2011.
"We are excited to have Austin join us. He is a talented player who will fit in well with our current roster and we expect him to come in and help us right away," said Energy General Manager Chris Makris.
Freeman is expected to make his Energy debut this week.
The Energy's Opening Day will be Sunday, December 8th featuring $1 hot dogs, the ZOOperstars, and a magnet schedule giveaway sponsored by Anderson Animal Hospital. Buy tickets at DahlsTickets.com or call 564-8550.
