The Iowa Energy fell to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 142-131 at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday night.
The Energy led Fort Wayne 40-38 after the first quarter. Iowa's Moses Ehambe shot 4 of 5 from behind the three point line in the quarter and had 14 of his 26 in the first. Fort Wayne's Ron Howard had 15 after one, shooting 9 of 9 from the free throw line.
The two teams were tied at 66 heading into halftime. Othyus Jeffers had 16 points and 11 rebounds at the half for the Energy.
Fort Wayne outscored the Energy 38-31 in the quarter behind Sadiel Rojas, who had 13 of his game high 36 points in the quarter. Fort Wayne took a 104-97 lead into the final quarter.
The Mad Ants pulled away from the Energy in the fourth quarter and defeated Iowa 142-131.
Fort Wayne had seven players finish in double figures, led by Rojas's 36 points and 10 boards. Howard finished the night with 27 points. Tony Mitchell added 20 points off the bench for the Mad Ants.
Iowa was led by Jeffers, who had 27 points and 19 rebounds. Ehambe finished the night with 26 and Jackie Carmichael added 20. Chris Allen had 18 points off the bench for the Energy and Austin Freeman contributed 15 points.
The Energy travel to Fort Wayne to take on the Mad Ants tomorrow at 4 PM and then return home to take on former Cyclone Chris Babb and the Maine Red Claws on Thursday, January 23rd at 7 PM. Fans can get 2-for-1 sideline seats for the game.
