Something tells me we are only hearing a very gray version of what really happened.

First, with the high tech satellite GPS, chartplotter and sonar systems, our two boats knew within a few feet of where they were at all times, and how deep the water was under them..

Second, as far as drifting a mile into Iranian waters after loosing an engine, again, something stinks.

Most saltwater boats have redundant systems, even propulsion units. I do not like to go out onto the ocean on any boat that only has one engine, unless it is a sail boat. Either the boat has to have two main engines, or one main and one kicker engine to keep the boat from drifting into dangerous waters when a main engine is lost. If our military boats only have one engine, that is a poor design and not safe.

Third, even if these boats only had one engine, there were two boats. If one of the boats lost all power to all engines, then the buddy/wing boat should have had a way to safely tow the other boat. If our two boats did not have a tow rope, then again, our military screwed up outfitting these boats.

I do not know what really happened. However, I question the cover story the military is feeding us.

It will be interesting in 10 years when Saudia Arabia ' s ruling class go bankrupt from dropping oil prices and mounting debts. America has backed a lot of scumbag governments but the Saudis are among the worst. We give shit to the UAE, but at least they have built up the infastructure of their own country! Saudia Arabia murders or tortures anybody who questions their authority. And the UN put them on the Council For Human Rights! America isn't the bully of the world any more. We are the enablers.....
