Is anyone else sick of the "economy as a car" metaphor?

Judging by Obama's most recent statement, the car has been abandoned in the ditch, the GOP is on the banks drinking Slurpees, and somehow Obama is now driving a bus down the road. How he got the bus to drive is not known, but the GOP can ride in it, except they need to get in the back!

Somehow, I don't think the GOP as Rosa Parks is the message he wanted to send. It's getting to the point where I just groan every time I hear him trot this lame metaphor out. And the riffing off of it (the Slurpees, how hot and muddy he is, etc.) is ridiculous.

So, am I alone in this metaphor being annoying?

It isn't annoying to me because I turn the channel every time I feel that there is the slightest chance Obama might be on the channel I am watching. I do the same thing with the radio at work whenever the new Ozzy song they like to play every five minutes is on. I just can't stand it.

Why shouldn't we? If the guy ever says one thing I agree with I still won't believe that HE believes it. These people want everything in the world to be fair and they think we will all just be rich and happy and live forever if we just follow them.

You should hear these constant ads here in Nevada about how this prominent Republican and so and so a life long Republican will vote for Harry Reid because Sharon Angle is too far right wing for them. These people don't believe in a damn thing. Except money.

Now find one post I have EVER posted that gave George W any type of compliment ever. The only one I can think of was when they gave a half hearted effort to stop Barney Frank and others from wanting to give poor people mortgages just to be "FAIR"

Even that I don't know about first hand, read about it on the internet and watched some youtube videos.

If you want to use the car metaphor Obama loves so much here goes.

Clinton bought the car on zero percent down and life was good. He didn't change the oil very often but kept it nice and clean and it was still in pretty good shape. Got a few hummers behind the wheel and things were rosy.

George W, got behind the wheel and first off some immigrant with no insurance smashed into it but didn't quite hurt it enough to keep it off the road. It barely ran, and we spent more money on oil for it even though we never put any in the damn car (war)

All the while, a man who was going to become President hated cars the whole time and thought we should all drive bicycles or walk was plotting how he could trick us into letting him drive even though he really had NO idea how to drive a car. He would promise to CHANGE everything about the car, new paint and everyone would get to drive it and gas would be free and the car would go 300 mph and wouldn't pollute at all.

Then he drove it off a cliff. The end.
