Everytime Dame struggles he says he’s injured. That just happen every single time he had to deal with struggles or shooting slumps (which is happen right now).

Dame is getting old? Is time to move from him? Is he Washed?

Questions

I don't know, I did hear he drinks like a fish.

Well, last I heard he was getting injections for pain prior to the Griz game. I would say that means he is still injured.

What this organization needs to do is sit him for the rest of the year. There is no chance to make the postseason and therefore no reason to risk more injuries. Develop the younger guys and tank in the process for a pick.

Nope. He's done. The experts on s2 have spoken.

Ir seems like he is ok now but he doesn't play defense and that will always be his dilemma.

I don't get this reply, "seems like he is ok", but yet his shooting remains horrible, and given his awful D as you say where does that leave us? And if he is OK then is this the "washed out" Dame as the OP asked and the new norm? If this is the new reality or anywhere close to it then I say trade him now while he still has some significant trade value. Now if the injury is still bothering him then shut him down for the year and get it fixed.

Wall, Kemba and Isaiah Thomas seem like cautionary tales for where this is going. Do you want to be caught holding the bag when the rest of the NBA realizes he's on a sharp downturn in productivity?

He actually shot well from 3 last night.
He was 1-10 from 2….that’s the scary part

I think a better question would be:

Should Dame take more time off as to heal properly (since they're not going anywhere this year, barring a miracle trade) and he'll eventually return closer to his averages (maybe not scoring 28-30 ppg, but definitely not shooting sub-par %)

OR are his #'s going to plummet from here on out.

I think it's more the former and not the latter. Honestly, at this point I hope he takes time off and gets his issue fixed. I know he's probably too proud to deal with it, but it's not like it's been 5-9 games...we're going on like 25 games of shitty play from him. That's over a quarter of the season. I dont think you can write off a quarter of a season as just a "slump".

Yes, i am from Brasil. Im a fan since 2014 tho

Right on. Thought i remembered that. Well to answer your question. No he isn't washed up and done. But i believe if he keeps pushing himself he might push himself right into that washed up bathtub.
I wish he would shut himself down and get right for next season, let us get a good pick and use it to better the team.

To be fair, Bruno is from overseas i believe?
That's how the kids are saying it these days though. They say a player is washed instead of washed up. I can understand why @Rastapopoulos wouldn't like that. Someone who starts twenty threads a week doesn't seem like he'd really be into contraction.

Welcome back Bruno! Good to see you post again but no...Dame is not washed up....he'll bounce back and find his stroke again..Curry did after injury and Durant did too....Dame will be fine once he gets comfortable with Chauncey's game plans

He did play well (ok) against the Grizz.

Grizzlies vs. Trail Blazers - Box Score - December 15, 2021 - ESPN

Time to shut him down. Maybe they are waiting until a trade happens and they can try to retool the roster a bit? I don't know?
In the end i believe they will shut Dame down this year if things don't turn around pretty quick.
I figure we will all know by the All-Star break.

hopefully we will know sooner than that! Isnt that end of January?

Yeah. I'm trying to think like i think Damian Lillard would think. Trade deadline is Feb 10th.
You figure Dame will stay active until there is no chance. I also figure the Team will make some kind of move.
If the Blazers are in the running for a playoff spot he will not shut down. That includes the play in tourney.

I believe you are right but hope you are wrong. :)

IF we shut him down at all, then it should happen right now, so a trade by trade deadline looks more enticing with our potential pick being a good lottery pick.

Cant believe im saying this but sit Dame. Ow and Tank the shit out of this season!

How does that work? That pick is traded already if they make the playoffs? If a team trades and includes that pick but then the Blazers somehow make the playoffs they lose their pick?
It's why i don't comment much on trade threads.

im not sure wither honestly. I think we may have to wait unril its confirmed.
But thats why i think we should tNk now. Maybe its confirmed by the deadline?

There are some really knowledgeable people here about this. Maybe we can lean on them a bit? ;)

@hoopsjock ? @BonesJones ?

help some BlazerBros out? :)

If we tried tanking now how does our lottery protected pick work out?

We can't trade that pick at the deadline. We could trade it at the draft after the season is over by making the pick for someone and then trading that person based on an agreed upon deal. As long as we are in the lottery. Of course.

If we do make the playoffs it goes to chicago.

Right now we can't trade our 2023 first round pick because you can't have back to back picks gone.

If we don't make the playoffs and we get to keep our 2022 pick, the 2023 pick is held hostage by Chicago. Meaning we then couldn't trade our 2024 pick.

You Dame is not playing superstar like he has in the past but he still averaging 22/7 that's pretty good for most players in this season. His shot hasn't been consistent this year but hate to say majority of players in this league is having the same problem so maybe it's the ball or not but the 3 point shooting in this league been down percentage wise. Yes we love have averaging 28 points and maybe that would give view more wins but it's time other players to step up and start playing better beside him if they want turn the season around.
